In his will he mentiones neighbour Thomas Dudley.

WILLIAM THOMAS, Gentleman, their son, was Land Agent for Lord Baltimore and acquired many large grants. He inherited the remainder of "KEDGERTON", 986 acres; had Resurveyed "MOUNT HERMON", 890 acres (of which 300 acres was set aside for the wedding dower of his second wife--Joanna Powell, and which descended to my mother, Eliz. Thomas Wallis Schutt, and sold after her death (1919). He acquired 740 acres, part of STRATFORD MANOR, and 100 acres of New York; Tilghman's Farm, and Chance, 682 acres; Thomas' Discovery, 200 acres, etc. He was b--c--1687, was m--1st--at Cecil Meeting of Friends, to Johanna Hosier, in 1697. He was m--2dly--before a large and distinguished gathering of Friends at Tred Avon Meeting--to Joanna Powell, dau--of Howell Powell, Jr. and Esther Bartlett, in 1738, by whom he had one son, JAMES THOMAS, b--3m-18d, 1739.
Howell Powell was the son of Howell Powell, Sr., and his wife, Eliz. Gorsuch (Rev. John, Daniel, Wm.), dau--of Rev. John and Anne (Lovelace) Gorsuch, dau--of Sir William Lovelace, Knight, of Bethersden, Kent, England, and sister of Gov. Francis Lovelace of New York, and the poet, Richard Lovelace.
Howell Powell was the son of Hugh Powell, Castle Madoc, Brecknockshire, Wales.
Wm. Thomas built his home in 1711 (still standing). He d--1739.

To wife Magdalen, certain personalty during widowhood,
to pass at her marriage or death as follows:
To bro. John during his life, then to his son Jacob; to Sarah and Elizabeth, daus. of bro. Govert, dec'd; to nephew Jacob Hindman (son of sister Mary Ann) and to son-in-law John Edmondson.
To John Edmondson afsd., personalty, including debts due on condition he discharge estate from all demands.
To wife Magdalen, half remaining personal estate in Talbot Co. absolutely, and half remaining pt. in sd. co. during her widowhood, to pass to following relations: Jacob (son of bro. John), Jacob Hindman (son of sister Mary Allen) and William and Joseph (sons of Thomas and Mary Haskins) equally, provided sd. wife shall accept bequests in lieu of her dower, and also pay to James Edmondson and Sarah, wife of Howel Powel, £5 each.
To bro. John and Francis Allen and sister Mary, his wife, all debts due, on condition they discharge estate of debt due them.
To nephew Govert (son of bro. Govert) and his male hrs., "Rochester," Dorchester County, and failing such issue to pass in surname of Loockerman forever; also personalty on sd. plantation, same to remain in hands of his bro. Jacob during his minority; sd. Jacob to pay out of profits £3 yearly to his sisters Sarah and Elizabeth while unmarried.
nephew Jacob Hindman (son of sister Mary Allen) and male hrs., "Dopler Neck," Dorchester County, bou. of John Kirke, and failing such issue to the male hrs. of the surname of Loockerman forever.
To nephew Jacob (son of bro. Govert) and hrs., lot in town of Islenton, Dorchester Co.; also all debt book of accounts relating to Sheriff's office, Dorchester County, and all profits accruing therefrom; shd. he refuse, sureties for same, to have same power as is given sd. nephew, overplus to remain to sd. nephew Jacob, he paying out of same to bro. John personalty, and deliver to bro. John and Mary his wife, to bro. Nicholas and his wife
To bro.-in-law Francis Allen and Mary his wife, to cousin Thomas Haskins and Mary his wife and to Coll. William Holland and Elizabeth his wife each a ring; and residue of personalty in Dorchester Co. or elsewhere (excepting Talbot Co.) ; he paying to bro. Thomas £10 toward his education, and also to indemnify the securities given for due administration of estate of father Jacob Loockerman.
Son-in-law Howell Powell to be discharged from all debts due estate, provided he discharge estate from all claims that may be due him.
