      iv. James Howard was born 15 JUL 1744 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, and died 1795 in Anne Arundel, Md. He married Mary Rumney, daughter of Nathaniel Rumney and Mary Carroll Croxall. She was born ABT 1750.

      v. Ephraim Howard , Dr. was born 3 DEC 1745 in Anne Arundel County, MD, and died ABT 1788 in Anne Arundel County, MD. He married Achsah Dorsey, daughter of John Ely Dorsey and Elizabeth Dorsey. She was born 17 MAY 1746, and died 1799.

      To dau. Onner Davidge, part of tract I have of Benjamin Lawrence and during widowhood she to have use of 100 acres adjoining land I gave my son John provided it does not effect his land.
      If my wife remarries, my son Joshua to have lands etc. as he would after her decease.
      Wife extx., Negro Nan, if she stands to will, dwelling plantation with all land during widowhood and residue of my estate after debts and legacies are paid, she to be able to keep two negroes devised to my grandchildren during her life, at her death remaining part of my estate to my five children, Vachel Denton Howard, Joshua Howard, Rachel Warfield, Sarah Green and Onner Davidge.
      To Greenbury Ridgely, Henry Ridgely, John Burgess and Henry Griffith to make division and settle any dispute in regard to my estate.
      To my daus. Sarah and Onner and their children not to be entitled to any part of my estate until my youngest sons be paid and in case it is necessary my ex. to sell land I devised to my grandson Benjamin Nelson, dau. Sarah and her children and dau. Onner and her children, their estates to be used to pay my sons parts if necessary. If either of my sons die without issue land to my three daus..
