Will of REBECCA MOORE. I REBECCA MOORE of county of King George
Whereas my late husband JOHN MOORE did by his last will and testament bearing date 29th July 1758 give and bequeath to me his riding
chair and two horses .. (also mentions the other bequests) •. and by
virtue of said will did on 16th day July last past make choice of the
five Negroes •• I bequeath unto my son WILLIAM MOORE when he attains
age of Twenty one and to my grandson JAMES MADDISON junr. when he attains Eighteen years of age to be equally divided between them..if
WILLIAM should die before age Twenty one his part to be equally divided
between my four grandsons FRANCIS and CATLETT CONWAY and FRANCIS and AMBROSE MADISON .. and in case my grandson JAMES MADISON dying before he attains age Eighteen .. his legacy to be divided between my grandsons FRANCIS & AMBROSE MADISON. To my son WILLIAM MOORE one third part of the silver spoons left me by my late Husband his Father, also a Mourning Ring of Thirty shillings value. I give my son FRANCIS CONWAY and SARAH his wife each of them a mourning ring of Thirty shillings value; to my daughter NELLY MADISON a mourning ring of Thirty shillings value, also my wearing apparel; to my niece MARY GILLISON the wife of Mr. JOHN GILLISON a mourning ring of Thirty shillings value; unto JANE TAYLOR wife of ERASMUS TAYLOR a mourning ring of Thirty shillings value; to my granddaughter MARY CONWAY when she attains the age of Twenty one or marries Fifty pounds currt. money of Virginia .. if she should die to be equally divided between my two grandsons FRANCIS and CATLETT CONWAY .. to my son in law JAMES MADISON and my son WILLLAM MOORE my two Executors .. what money I leave at my death I bequeath to my son WILLIAM MOORE and my grandson JAMES MADISON JUNR. to be equally divided between them .. my will that my son in law JAMES MADISON and my daughter NELLY his wife shall enjoy the legacies I have bequeathed my grandson JAMES MADISON JUNR. until he attains age Eighteen .. this 6th day
of November 1758.

THIS INDENTURE made the 4th day of November one thousand seven hundred and eighty four Between JOHN SKINKER, THOMAS BERRY and GEORGE FITZHUGH, Gent., Trustees, of one part and WILLIAM SHROPSHIRE and LAURANCE BALTHROPE of the other part: Witnesseth that the Trustees in consideration of the sum of Thirty pounds to them in hand paid by said SHROPSHIRE & BALTHROPE by these presents do bargain and sell unto said SHROPSHIRE & BALTHROPE their heirs one lott or half acre of land situate in the County of King George & Town of PORT CONWAY and numbered seven according to a Plat thereof made and laid out into Lotts by AARON THORNLEY, Surveyor of County of King George, To have and to hold the lott or half acre of land with all appurtenances belonging to WM: SHROPSHIRE and LAURANCE BALTHROPE their heirs according to an Act of Assembly intitled, "An Act for Establishing a Town on the Land of FRANCIS CONWAY in the County of King George," In Witness whereof the said Trustees hath hereunto set their hands & affixed their seals the day & year above written JOHN SKINKER
