Unto my loving sister Hannah Tanner living in Honiton in Devon, if living, 200 pounds of tobacco to be sent home directed to Mr. Jno. Bovett, merchant, i[n] Honiton in Devon.
Unto my daughter Frances Tanner 150 acres beginning upon Edwards his line ... land of Major Thomas Youell ... head of westerly branch of Col. Kenner's land that was ... up by the fence where William Martin now lives up through the great swamp to the Edwards line.
My daughter Frances twelve head of cattle and five ewes and one ram and two feather [beds) and one furniture and one dark gray mare and one grizzel sow and three barrows and my pewter and brass.
All iron pots and other iron to be divided between my daughter Frances and daughter Hannah Tanner.

For £100 sterling. 240 acres near the head of Machotick neck, part of 330 acres sold by the honorable Nicholas Spencer, Esqr., to Thomas Tanner, 25 Feb. 1683/4, and afterwards patented by Tanner for 500 acres including other lands ... at the fork of the two main branches that issueth out of the head of Machotick River ... up that branch comonly called the horse-ing tree swamp to the land of John Medford ... along Morford's head line and the head line of the lands of Thomas Sorrell ... land of Francis Awbrey ... down the dividing line to the other branch at the fork ... corner tree of Henry Roche's land now in the possession of Robert Vaulx houses, orchards, fences ...

Thomas Sorrell of Cople Parish, Westmoreland County, to John Awbrey of Westmoreland County. For £150 sterling. 240 acres which he purchased of John Awbrey and Hannah his wife 3 Sept. 1719, near the head of Machodick neck, part of 330 acres sold by the Honorable Nicholas Spencer, Esq., to Thomas Tanner 25 Feb. 1683/4 and afterward by Tanner patented for 500 acres including other land, 22 March 1691/2 ... at the fork of the two main branches that issueth out of the head of Machotick River ... up that branch comonly called the horseing tree swamp to the land of John Medford ... the head line of other lands of Thomas Sorrell ... to the dividing line of this land and the land of Francis Awbrey being the remaining part of the patent ... down the dividing line to the other branch at the fork issuing out of the River and a corner tree of Henry Roche's land now in the possession of Robert Vaulx
For the use of John Awbrey and Hannah his wife during the life of John Awbrey and to such child or children as John hath or shall begett on the body of Hannah and as he shall think fitt to give and bestow the same upon and to their heirs, and in case John shall depart this life without leaving issue begott on the body of Hannah, then for the use of Hannah Awbrey and her heirs and assigns, and in case Hannah should leave no issue then for the use of Jno. Awbrey his heirs.

THIS INDENTURE made this 29th day of January in the year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred & twenty five Between JOHN AWBREY of the Parish of Cople in the County of Westmoreld of one part and THOMAS SORRELL of the Parish and County aforesd. of the other part: Wittnesseth that JOHN AWBREY in consideracon of the sum of Twenty five hundred & eighteen pounds of tobacco to him in hand paid by THOMAS SORRELL. the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, by these presents doth bargain and sell unto the said THOMAS all that his the sd. JOHN AWBREYs Estate right title and demand of in & unto one acre of land and the Mill thereon erected and the Stones now hanging and all the furniture, utensils and appurtenances whatsoever unto the Mill, Mill Stream, and land in any manner belonging; by force & virtue of the Last Will and Testament of JOHN ERWIN, deced., or by any other ways or means. together with all water courses profitts & advantages unto the land & Mill belonging: To have and to hold the Land, Mill, Mill House, Stones, Stream and other the materials & utensiles & premisses unto THOMAS SORRELL his heirs free & clear from all in cumbrances committed or suffered by JOHN AWBREY his heirs and JOHN AWBREY the land Mill & other the appurtenances unto THOMAS SORRELL his heirs shall warrant and forever defend so that neither sd. NOW ALL MEN by these presents that I HANNAH, the Wife of Mr. JOHN AWBREY, of Westmoreld. County have and by these presents do authorize and impower my good Friend. Mr. WILLIAM STURMAN, for me to appear at the next Court to be held for Westmoreld. County and in my behalf there acknowledge to THOMAS SORRELL all my right of Dower & Thirds in a certain part of a Mill House and all the appurtenances and running geer in the same and the Land to the Mill belonging which my Husband sold to THOMAS SORRELL by his certain Deed bearing even date with these presents; and for my sd. Attorney so doing, this shall be his sufficient warrant confirming that what he shall lawfully doe in the premisses as effectual in Law as if I had been present and actually done the same.
