John Hill, of NFP, and wife Betty, to James Downman, same; for 24 pounds CMV; 59a, parcel in said parish, bounded beg. at the head ofJohn Woolard's spring branch, from thence running northwest [metes and bounds omitted] along down the swamp southwest, thence northwest and southwest to a corner red oak, from thence northeast to the road that leads to the old church, then along the said road northeast to the place it began. Signed John Hill, Betty Hill. Wits. Roger Williams, Rawleigh Downman Junr. Memorandum. Receipt. Rec. 7 MAY 1750. Previous to which Betty wife of the said John being privily examined freely relinquished her right of dower in the premises thereby conveyed.
