      IN THE NAME OF GOD Amen I PETER MOUNTAGUE being weak in body but of sound mind & p:fect memory do make this my last Will &Testamt. this 27th of March 1659 in manner & forme following.
      First I bequeath my soul into the hands of my Redeemer Jesus Christ & my body to be buried
      Item my Debts being first paid, I give to my loveing Wife, CICELEY, one third part of all my reall & p:sonal Estate according to Law
      Itm I give to my two Sons, PETER & WILL: MOUNTAGUE, all my land lying in Rappahannock River to them & their heirs forever, And the land being divided, it is my will that the Elder is to have the first choice & in case of want of heirs of either the Surviyour to injoy all the land in case both of them shall depart this life without heirs lawfully begotten, then my will is that the sd land be sold by the Commissioners of this County after Publick notice given either at an outcry or by an Inch of Candle & the produce thereof to be equally divided between my three Daughters, ELLEN, MARGARET, ELIZABETH, & the Child of ANNE, late Wife of JOHN JADWYN, and in case any of these shall die without issue then the produce of the sd land to be divided betwixt the Survivors
      Itm, I give the other two thirds of my p:sonall Estate to my four Children, PETER, WILL: MARGARET & ELIZABETH to be equally divided amongst them
      Itm. I give to my Daughtr, ELLEN, the Wife of WILL; THOMPSON, One thousand pounds of tobo. cask to be deducted out of a bil of thirteen hundred of tob; now due to me by the sd WILL:THOMPSON
      Lastly, I ordain my loveing Wife, CICELY & my Son, PETER, joyntly Exrs, &Exx. of this my last Will &Testamt.
