Lancaster county Court 9th of February 1680/81
- Ordered by this Court that the Estate belonginge to the Orphts. of FRANCIS PORTER (deced) bee forthwth: delivered by THOMAS WELLS and MARGARET his Wife, unto Major EDWARD DALE, High Sheriffe of this County, accordinge to the Inventory exhibited to this Court in tobaccoe accordinge to the apprizemt. or otherwise upon their refusall of payeing the saide tobaccoe, the saide Sheriffe to take that pte: of the saide Estate and sell the same att an Outcry for the use of the saide Orphts. and to make reparte thereof to the nexte Court
- It appeareing to this Court that FRANCIS PORTER (deced) stands indebted unto GEORGE HEALE in foure hundred and thirty pounds of tob: and Ca: p Bill. It is ordered that the same bee forthwth: pde, out of the saide PORTERs Estate accordinge to the tenor of the saide Bill wth: costs

- THOMAS WELLS as marrieing the Relicte of FRANCIS PORTER (deced), peticoning this Court for the beinge possessed wth: the Estate belonginge to the Orphts, of the saide PORTER, and Mr. THOMAS WILKE undertakeing in Court to bee security wth: the saide WELLS for the payment of the saide PORTERs Debts as alsoe the saide Orphts. Estate accordinge to Lave, It is therefore ordered that the Bills in the possession of the Clerke of this County taken in the name of this Court for the use of the saide Orphts. bee forthwth: delivered by the saide Clerke upon their Bond given to this Court for p:for-

- Whereas it appeares to this Court that THOMAS WELLS, late of this County, is indebted unto NICHOLAS DYMER one thousand pounds of neate Porke and five hundred and fifty pounds of tobacco and ca: and tenne shillings money Sterl., p Specialties and depteing this County without satisfyeing the same, the saide DYMER obtained an Attachmt. against the Estate of the sde. WELLS in this County, which appeares by the returne thereof presented upon betweene fifty and sixty head of hoggs at the ( ) of one FRANCIS PORTER (deced) and belonging to the saide WELLS and marked with the swallow forke in each eare and nick under each eare each of the roots which noe p:son appeareing to replevyn, the saide Attachmt. ) bee paide to the snide DYMER, oath being made by the saide DYMER to the truth of his saide Debt. - The Peticon being presented to this Court by MARGARET WELLS, Wife of THOMAS WELL, late of this County, and the late Widdowe and Relicte of FRANCIS PORTER, late of this County, for the thirds of a Plantation ( ) belonging to her out of the saide PORTERs Lande and now in the possession of GEORGE PAGE, it appeareing to this Court that the sde THOMAS WELLS and the saide MARGARET did let unto the sde. PAGE for the saide Thirds for the terme of time of six yeres from the time of the saide Lease granted, the saide WELLS clandestinely departeing this County and ye sde. MARGARET not being of capacity to comply with ( ) and noe consideracon being menconed for the sde. ( ) except the saide THO: WELLS had complied wth: his pte, in ye Lease. It is therefore ordered that the saide PAGE doe forthwth: pay unto the saide MARGARET WELLS foure hundred pounds of tobacco and ca: and likewise for every yere of saide terme of time to commence foure hundred pounds of tobacco with casks als exe., otherwise to deliver possession of the sde.
