      THIS INDENTURE made the Second day of April in year of our Lord 1784 Between EDMUND BASYE and WINIFRED his Wife of Culpeper County of one part and WILLIAM COOK of said County of other part Witnesseth that said BASYE and Wife for sum of Fifty three pounds Ten shillings current money of Virginia in hand paid by these presents do bargain and sell unto WILLIAM COOK his heirs that tract of land late the Property of THOMAS McCLANAHAN containing One hundred acres Begining at two red and one white Oaks on the West side of a small branch of INDIA RUN in WALTER STALLARDs line, runing thence North fifty degrees West One hundred and thirty five pole to three Pines, thence South forty degrees West ninety pole to two white and one Spanish Oak thence South six degrees East One hundred and twenty two pole to two Spanish one red and one white Oaks onthe East side of a branch of MILL RUN in said BASY's line and a corner to said tract & THOMAS BYWATERs and the Land on which said COOK now liveth, thence with the several lines and along the several Courses which divides said tract from COOKs land to the begining Containing One hundred acres more or less with all houses Orchards profits & Emoluments to the same belonging To have and to hold the said land with the appurtenances unto WILLIAM COOKE his heirs free and clear from all former Incumbrances whatever and the said BASYE's their heirs doth warrant and defend said COOK in the peaceable possession of said land In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and affixed our Seals the day and year above
