TO ALL WHOM it may concern or these presents Come, Know Ye that I REUBEN LONG, Son of BROMFIELD LONG and ELIZABETH LONG, who was ELIZABETH BOND Daughter of JOHN and MARY BOND, all of Culpeper County which said REUBEN LONG is of the one part and ROBERT GAINS of ORANGE COUNTY of the other part Witnesseth that REUBEN LONG being seized in Certain slaves now in possession of his Grandmother, MARY BOND, by Virtue of a Deed of Gift made by said JOHN BOND bearing date the day of 177 duely recorded in the County aforesaid Wherein after the death of said MARY he devises certain negroes to his two Daughters, ELIZABETH and MARY, (the said slaves) with their Increase and to their Children equally share and share alike the said REUBEN, party to these presents, being the Eldest Son of said ELIZABETH by the said BRUMFIELD LONG, being so hereof seized in Reversion and being desirous to sell and dispose of the same for and in consideration of the sum of Seven hundred pounds good and lawful! money of the State of Virginia to him in hand paid by ROBERT GAINS hath bargained and sold all that one fourth undevided share of the Slave or Slaves aforesaid and also all such shares as the said REUBEN LONG may hereafter be Intitled to by heir ship or other Right In Witness whereof I the said REUBEN LONG hath hereunto set my hand and Seal as my act and deed this 28th day of September 1779
