      His will made April 10,1773 probated April 13,1773 Will Book 2 pages 459-460 was witnessed by Benjamin Carter and Eizabeth Carter. On Nov.23,1775 John Sleet brother to Weedon McCawley Sleet was appointed guardian of James and Weedon Sleet, orphans of Weedon Sleet. Benjamin Finnell was appointed guardian of Lucy,Martha and Sarah daughters of Weedon Sleet. Sarah Carter Sleet married second Benjamin Finnell.

      THIS INDENTURE made this 21st day of December in year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & Eighty nine Between BENJAMIN FINNELL & SARAH his Wife of County of Culpeper of one part and ELIAS CHELP of aforesaid County of other part; Witnesseth that in consideration of sum of One hundred & Sixty pounds current money of Virginia to them in hand paid have bargained & sold unto ELIAS CHELP his heirs a certain tract of land containing One hundred and Sixty five acres lying in foresaid County on the ROBINSON RIVER and bounded, Begining at a Red Bud & Poplar on South side of the Old River, thence up the same North 25 degrees West 54 poles to a red Oak standing on North side of said River, thence North 13 degrees East 202 poles to three red Oaks in the Plantation. thence North 20 degrees East 113 pole to a white & red Oak in CLOREs line, thence South 85 degrees East 58 pole to a red Oak on the top of the Mountain, thence South 16 degrees West 123 pole to a Chesnut Oak on said Mountain, thence South 6 degrees East 144 pole to two Pines, thence to the begining; Together with all fences houses and other appurtenances belonging; To have and to hold the aforesaid land and premises from all Incumbrances of Mortgages Dowers & Reversions and to the only use of said ELIAS CHELP his heirs, As Witness our hands & seals the day and year above written
