      On 27 March 1723, John Emerson of Queen Anne's County conveyed to William Elbert of Talbot County, a carpenter, part of Rebecca's Garden on the west side of Robert Noble's Branch and beside a small run and formerly taken up for Rebecca Woolman, who died without an heir, and the land fell by heirship to Richard Woolman. He died intestate and having no issue it fell to his sisters; Mary, Alice, Sarah, Ann, Sophia and Judah. John Emerson was the oldest son of Sophia Emerson, deceased, one of the co-heirs.
