Feb. 1699/1700 - Whereas John Sympson of Charles Co., planter, was summoned to answer John Bayne of a plea that he render unto him the sum of 750 lbs. of leaf tobacco and cask which to him he oweth and unjustly detaineth, the said action was here in Court acknowledged to be agreed.

Comment: Robert McHone/Mackon etc., whom Elizabeth will later marry, was a servant of John Bayne.
Apr. 1736- Michael Roby vs. Daniel Ross. Claiming that Ross had absconded, Roby obtained a writ of attachment against Ross in the sum of 250 lbs. of tobacco damages and 400 lbs. of tobacco costs. Pursuant to the writ, in Apr. 1736 the Sheriff attached a small gray house and an old gun of Ross' that were in the hands of Elizabeth McHorne. The horse and gun were appraised at the value of 550 lbs. of tobacco. At the June 1736 Court the property was condemned for Roby. Elizabeth did not appear to contest the attachment or condemnation. Thomas Simpson was present when the writ was served on Elizabeth and was one of the appraisers of the property of Ross' that was attached.

Mar. 25, 1741 -Robert Machon of Charles Co., planter, for the natural love I have for my daughter Jane Wood, have given Jane Wood and the heirs of her body lawfully begotten, part of a tract called "Hadlow," lying in Charles Co. on the east side of Piles Fresh, containing 93 acres. Signed Robert Machon ("R" his mark.) Elizabeth, the wife of Robert Machon, released her dower.

Charles County Land Record Book A#2, 1752-1756; Page (335). Depositions. CC, May 10, 1755. Christian Lamaster, aged 75 years and upwards, declares that upwards of 60 years ago, she remembers the death of Marmaduke Simms, and that his eldest son was named Anthoney Sand [and?], was always reputed so by the neighbors, and his eldest son (viz) sd Anthoney Simms', was named Marmaduke, and his eldest son, now alive, is named Anthoney. Signed - Christian (D her mark) Lamaster.
CC, May 10, 1755. Elizabeth Mechone, aged 76 years and upwards, declares that she remembers the death of Marmeduke Simms about 60 years ago, and that his eldest son was named Anthoney and the eldest son of sd Anthoney Simms was named Marmaduke sd Marmaduke Simms, Eldest son is named Anthoney, now alive. Signed - (C her mark) Machone.
CC, May 10, 1755. Thomas Sympson Sr, aged 60 years & upwards, declares that Anthoney Simms was reputed by all the neighbors to be the eldest son of Marmaduek Simms, ever since he remembers, and that sd Anthoney Simms' eldest son was named Marmaduke & his eldest son, now alive, is named Anthoney. CC, May 10, 1755. William Sympson, aged 57 years, declares that ever since he can remember, Anthoney Simms was always reputed to be the eldest son of Marmaduke Simms, and that he has often heard his father say so, and that sd Anthoney Simms' eldest son was named Marmaduke and his eldest son, who is now alive, is named Anthony. Signed - William Sympson.
CC, May 10, 1755. Richard Edelen Sr, aged 83 years and upwards, declares that he very well remembers and was acquainted with one, Marmaduke Simms, about 70 years ago, and that the sd Marmaduke Simms above 60 years and his eldest son was named Anthoney, with whom this deponent was very intimate, and sd Anthoney Simms' eldest son was named Marmaduke, with whom this deponent was also very well acquainted, and sd Marmaduke Simms' eldest son is named Anthoney, now alive.
