      William Poston's Final Account. Nov 3, 1778.
      The account of Priscilla Poston, administratrix, with the will annexed, of William Poston, late of CC deceased, viz - Debts include: the inventory of sd deceased's estate, exhibited into Orphan Court on September 13, 1777; tobacco left by the deceased; tobacco received of Jno Stewart, of Ignatius Cahoe; money received of William Bath, of Susanah Waters; sundries sold from the mill and the smith's shop; 3 barrels of corn, part of the last crop sold. The whole amount of the estate: 1428 £9 shillings 8-1/2 pence.
      Disbursements went to William McPherson; Thomas Walls; Dr. Edward Semmes; Edward Boarman, Sheriff, for levies; Walter Hanson, Register for letters and recording will and for recording inventory and for stating, passing, and recording this account. Balance to be disposed according to the deceased's will: 1390 £3 shillings 8 pence.
      Final Account: 1428 £9 shillings 8 pence.
      Securities: James Waters and Philip Davis.
      Proved on Nov 30, 1778 by Priscilla Poston, the accountant afd.

      On Aug 19, 1777, Letters Testamentary were granted on the estate of Peter Davis, to Susanah Davis, his daughter and sole executrix by his will appointed. Securities = Philip Davis and William Harrison of Trinity Parish, and both of CC. Bond = 200 £Appraisers: Wm Moreton & Bennet Dyson. On Sep 6, 1777, the inventory was received, amounting to 89 £10 shillings 5 pence.

      Richard Davis' Will.
      I, Richard Davis of CC, am sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory.
      To my cousin Philip Davis - the use of my dwelling plantation, being part of a tract of land called Davis' Hazzard, until my grandson Williamson Davis arrives at age 21 years, in consideration that sd Philip will contribute towards the raising and maintaining of my 2 youngest grandchildren, viz, Marget & Mary.
      To my grandson Williamson Davis - my dwelling plantation, being part of a tract of land called Davis' Hazzard, which land to be put into the possession of my afd grandson by my afd cousin, Philip Davis on the day of his arrival at the age of 21 years. gut if my afd grandson dies without lawful heir, then the afd land to become the property of my 4 granddaughters.
      To my granddaughters Elizabeth Davis and Casandra Davis - to each 1 iron pot & hooks, 1 pewter dish, 1 pewter basin, and 3 pewter plates; but if either of then dies without issue, the other to enjoy the whole.

      Williamson Davis, the heir at law, was present when the foregoing probate was taken & did not object to taking the same.

      Edward Davis' Will.
      Apr 13, 1781. I, Edward Davis of CC, am well in body and of perfect mind and memory.
      To my wife Judith - my dwelling plantations and slaves known
      by the names Sarah, Priscilla, Flosaet, Katharine, Robert, Michael, Charity, Sarah, Abraham, Samuel, Arron, Sabra, James, Birnerd, & Elizabeth. Also, all my moveable estate, whether of money, goods, clothes, household stuff. She is to have sd lands and moveables and their appurtenances during her lifetime, after all my debts are discharged, and then to be equally divided between my children, Hezekiah, Acquila, Melinda, Edward, Matthew, Thomas, Attaway, and John (blank] Chunn.
      Executors: my sons Hezekiah Davis and Acquila Davis.
      Signed - Edward Davis. Wit - Benjm Davis, Philip Davis, Benjamin Davis Jr.
      Probated on Apr 16, 1784 by the oath of Philip Davis, who said that he knows that Aquila Davis, one of the executors, is a resident of Virginia, and that sd Acquilla Davis renounced the acceptance thereof in his presence. Before W.H. Jenifer. Hezekiah Davis, acting executor, made oath on Apr 17, 1784 that the afd will is true and whole. Philip Davis & Benjamin Davis Jr, two of the witnesses, and made oath that they saw the testator declare the afd will to be his.
