      On October 7, 1775, Mary Coe, along with Robert Rankins and John Wynn, witnessed the will of James Alder of Prince George's County. In the will Alder named his wife Elizabeth and his children George, Johannah, James, Latimer, Elizabeth Keech, Ruth Hawkins, and Mary Alder. The inventory of Alder's estate was taken by Luke Marbury and Jgno Wheeler; next-of-kin who signed the document were John Simpson and Ruth H. Harp."

      June 1779 - Elizabeth Alder, executrix of James Alder, deceased, comes into Court and offers John Ryan and John Simson of Green securities for the Balance of said deceased's estate who are approved of on their giving bond in the penalty of 414 pounds current money of Maryland.

      Comment: James Alder was the half brother of John Simpson of Green.

      June 8, 1779 - Elizabeth Alder, John Ryan and John Simson/Simpson of Green bind themselves to the several representatives of James Alder, late of said county, deceased, in the sum of 414 lbs. current money of Maryland. There remains a balance due on the estate of James Alder amounting to 206/16/1 Maryland currency. The condition of this obligation is that the said Elizabeth Alder shall pay the several representatives, orphans of the said James Alder, such part of the deceased's estate as they shall be entitled to when they arrive to the age of 21 years, or at the marriage of the above bound Elizabeth Alder, agreeable to the last will and testament of the said deceased.
