      ln the name of God amen, I William Aylett of the Parish of St. David, in the County of King William, being at present sick and weak, but of sound and perfect mind and memory do make and ordain this my last Will and testament in form and manner following, that is to say:
      1 give to my son Philip Aylett the plantation on which I ai present live.: and all my I ands in King William; also all my Lands in Drummonds [1 Neck in James City County In him and his heirs,
      I give In my son William Aylett my Plantation in Warwick County called Baldrope: also my land in Bedford, which fell to my by inheritance from my Mother, to him and his heirs.
      My will and desire is that my loving wife Mary Aylett shall hold and enjoy the whole or any part of the aforesaid Lands, during her widowhood, on which to work or employ the slaves
      My will and desire is that my loving wife Mary Aylett shall hold and enjoy the whole or any part of the aforesaid Lands, during her widowhood, on which to work or employ the hereafter allotted her.
      All the residue of my estate of every kind whatsoever I do give and bequeath to my wife aforesaid and my children to be equally divided among them, at the discretion of my executors,
      reservingto Mrs. Aylett her choice in six of the Slaves above and over her proportion of the
      residue: which in Slaves so chosen, I do hereby give and bequeath unto her. Also my Chariot and choice of four horse, and all the silver plate in the House at the time of my decease I do also give and bequeath unto Mrs. Aylett aforesaid.
      I do give and bequeath unto Mrs. Rachel 'Thompson at present governess in my family, in return for her care and attention to my daughters, two hhds. of Tobacco at her disposal. And I do desire that my executives hereafter named will endeavor to engage her further care of my Daughters as Long as they may require it.
      I do desire and direct that Frances Tate be engaged at a liberal salary, to adjust and settle all my affairs after my decease being better acquainted therewith than any other person.
      I do nominate and appoint my loving wife Mary Aylett Executrix and Colo. Robert Brooke, Mr. Will. D. Claiborne, Mr. Thomas Butler, and William Gorley?, to be Executors to this my last Will and testament, hereby revoking and making void all and every other and former Will or Wills and Codicil or Codicils of Wills by me heretofore made. Dated at York this 12th day of April 1780.

      At a Court held for King William County the 15th day of June 1780 this will was presented in Court by Robert Brooke, Wil Claiborne and Tho. Butler gent: three of the executors therein named who made oath thereto according to Law and the same being proved by the oath of the several witnesses thereto was ordered to be recorded.
