- The will of Thomas Belt from Feb. 21, 1810 lists his daughter Ruth Swann and also grandson "Aenias" Swann, named after Aenas (Enos) Campbell who married another daughter of Thomas Belt.

BELT, THOMAS. Thomas Belt, son of Benjamin Belt and Ruth Harris,
moved from Prince George's County, Maryland to Iredell County,
North Carolina in 1786 (which corresponds to a land lease he had
obtained from Josias Beall, Jr., in 1765 and which was to run out
or expire in 21 years). About 1802 he helped found New Hope
Baptist Church. Thomas Belt, Jr. was born on May 9, 1769 in
Maryland and married Lucy Wright (born on October 27, 1786,
daughter of Thomas Wright and Mary Clanton, of Surry County,
North Carolina, in that portion now Yadkin) on October 21, 1804.
Their children were: Thomas Wright Belt (born January 20, 1806);
Jerusha Belt (born October 6, 1807); John P. Belt (born December
25, 1809); Amelia Melissa Belt (born February 12, 1812);
Elizabeth Belt (born April 5, 1816); Mary Caroline Belt (born
September 28, 1813); Nancy Lemira Belt (born August 23, 1819);
Benjamin w. Belt (born January 24, 1821); Daniel L. Belt (born
August 24, 1823); Lucy Emeline Belt; and, Rebecca Belt. Thomas
Belt, Sr. died in 1810 and Thomas Belt, Jr. died in 1829 (Ref:
