1833 - Catherine Simms died in 1833; the administration of her estate was granted to her son Benedict Simpson.
Distribution was made on Oct. 16, 1833, when the heirs were Gustavus Simpson, Benedict Simpson, and Elizabeth Simms.
Elizabeth Simms is reputed to be Catherine's only child by Mark Simms.

Susannah Phillips, Will, April 3, 1805; March 18, 1807
I, Susannah Phillips of CC, in common health of body and of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding;
Item: whereas my worthy friend Richard Gardiner Sr. late of Charles County dec'd, did on or about the fifth day of May Seventeen hundred and eighty two, duly make and execute his last will and testament, and among other legacies did will and decree that I shall live with his son Charles Gardiner during my single life and receive from him annually the wages that I had been accustomed to receive, which I hereby declare was 1000 pounds net crop tobacco per annum and whereas the said Charles Gardiner hath not complied with the said bequest, except for a few necessaries that he found me in the course of 22 yrs, for which I am willing to allow him 3000 pounds neat crop tobacco, provided that said Charles Gardiner will well and faithfully pay and account with my Executor for the balance that is due me from October 12th 1782 until the day of my death.
To the pastor of the lower congregation in Zachia worshiping at St. Mary's in the vicinity of Bryan Town, 1000 pounds net crop tobacco, to be paid him out of the tobacco due me from Charles Gardiner, being for the express purpose and intention of saying as many mass for my poor soul which said tobacco to be applied to the said Roman Catholic Church.
To godson Philip Gardiner, the quantity of 2000 pounds net crop tobacco out of the tobacco due me from his father. Also my seal skin trunk.
To Elizabeth Gardiner, daughter of Charles Gardiner, a small red trunk.
To god daughter, Jane Parmelia Gardiner, daughter of William Gardiner, 5 pounds current money.
To friend Mrs. Ann Gardiner, wife of Willam Gardiner, my new calico gown.
To Susanna Watson two other calico gowns, a shift, petticoat, a striped muslain apron, and a muslian shawl.
To Mrs. Joan Demar and old Mrs Speake all my caps and the remaining part of my hankerchiefs.
Item: I give unto the late Catharine Simpson, my cloak and bonnet.
To the poor of this congregation of which I am a member all the remaining part of my apparel.
To friend William Gardiner, 35 shillings.
To Ignatius Middleton, 4 dollars in consideration of his trouble in writing this my will.
My will and meaning is that all bequeaths and legacies should be first paid out of the tobacco due me from Charles Gardiner.
To godson Philip Gardiner, Harriot Gardiner, Sarah Gardiner and Elizabeth Gardiner, children of Charles Gardiner, all the remaining part and residue of Tobacco due me from Charles Gardiner.

Dec 5, 1788 from James Simpson of CC, to Bennett Wathen, son of John, of CC, for 10 £14 shillings and 6 pence, part of a tract of land called Saint Thomasses, now lying in CC, bounded by a bounded locust post standing by the side of the main road leading from Piles Fresh towards Bryan Town, a boundary of sd Wathen's land, then to a parcel of land sold out of Saint Thomas to John Wathen for a mill seat, containing about 143 perches. Mar. 13, 1821 - Mark Simms died intestate in Charles Co., Md.; letters of administration were issued to his widow Catherine Simms on Mar. 13, 1821, with Benedict Simpson and John Mudd as her bondsmen.
