      Indenture made March 31, 1759; John Hepburn, Esq. in consideration of 50 pounds sterling money of Great Britain paid by James Wardrop, merchant has sold all that moiety or part of a tract called "Horse Pen" formerly purchased by Patrick Hepburn, physician deceased of Dinah Ayre, widow by deed bearing date April 29, 1726 and according to the metes and bounds expressed in a deed from James Moore to Thomas Box bearing date February 15, 1700.       At The Request of Adam Thomson the following Deed was Recorded June the 12th 1765 This Indenture Made the Eighth Day of June in the year of Our Lord One Thousand and Seven Hundred and Sixty Five Between Robert Bull late of the Town of Leith near the City of Edinburgh in North Britain but now in Prince Georges County in the Province of Maryland Heir at law of James Wardrop late of the County & Province aforesaid Merchant Deceas'd being the only Son of his Only Sister of the one Part & Adam Thomson of Prince Georges County in the Said Province Physician of the other Part Whereas the Said James Wardrop Was in his life Time Seized in fee of aud in all that Tract or parcell of Land situate lying and adjoining to The Town of Upper Marlboro in Prince Georges County aforesaid Bounded as followeth (For land description see deed) Containing & Laid out for Twenty Acres Together with the Dwelling House Kitchens Smoke House Mill House Hen House Rabbit House Wash House Counting House & all other Houses Gardens & Yards therein Also All the Parcell of land being part of a Tract of land Called the Horse Race Containing Ninety Nine Acres heretofore Convey'd by John Levet unto the Said James Wardrop his Heirs & Assigns Also All that Moiety or part of a Tract of land Called the Horse Race purchased formerly by Patrick Hepburn of the County aforesaid Physician Deceas's of Dinah Ayre of the County aforesaid Widow as by the Said Dinah Ayre her Deed to the Said Patrick Hepburn Bearing Date the Twenty Ninth Day of April in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred & Twenty Six for the Consideration thereof Expressed and According to the Meets & Bounds expressed in a Deed from James Moore to Thomas Box Bearing date the fifteenth Day of February One Thousand Seven Hundred as by the Said Deed Reference being had there unto May More fully and at Large appear and also all that parcell of Land being part of or adjoining to Upper Marlboro Town (For land description see deed) Containing and laid out for Two Thousand four Hundred Square feet of Land and lying and being in Prince Georges County in the Province aforesaid and the said James Wardrop did in and by his last Will and Testament in Writing Give devise and bequeath the said Lands and Tenements above mentioned with the appurtenances there unto Belonging to his the Wife Lettice Wardrop her Heirs and Assigns for ever as by the Said Will upon Record in the Progortive office of the Province of Maryland May More fully Appear and whereas the said Lettice Refused to accept of the Lands Devs'd to her as aforesaid as appears likewise upon Record in the Said Progrogative Office and is thereby Intitled to one third Part of all her said Husbands Real Estate and Clamins her Dowry therein and that the said Addam Thomson in her Right is Seized thereof and Whereas also it hath been a greed between the Said Adam Thomas and Robert Bull Heir at Law as aforesaid of the Said James Wardrop That he should convey unto the Said Adam Thomason and his Heirs and Assigns all his Right Title & Interest Reverson & Reversons Remainder and Remainders of in & to all the Lands Houses and other the premises with the Appurtinances and of in and to all other Lands and Houses he has a right to in the province of Maryland as Heir at Law of the aforesaid James Wardrop for and in Consideration of the Sum of Three hundred and Twenty five pounds Sterling Now This Indenture Witnesseth That The Said Robert Bull for and in Consideration of the Aforesaid Sum of Three Hundred and Twenty five pounds Sterling to him in hand paid or Secured to be paid bu the Said Adam Thomson the receipt where of the Said Robert bull doth hereby Acknowledge Hath Given Granted Bargained Sold Aliened Enfeoffed Confirmed & Made overt and by these presents he the Said Robert Bulll doth for himself and his Heirs Give Grant Bargain Sell Alien Enfeoff Confirm and Make over unto the Said Adam Thomason his Heirs and Assigns for ever all the Said Lands Dwelling House Kitchen and all other House or Houses Garden Yars Warehouses and all other the Premises with the Appurtenances and also all other Lands and Houses He Said Robert Bull as Heir at Law of the aforesaid James Wardrop has any Estate Right Title or Interest of in and to in the Province of Maryland And the Reversion & Reversions Remainder & Remainders and all Rents due from any person or persons whatsoever for all or any of the Said Lands Tenements Houses or Warehouses from the Decease of the aforesaid James Wardrop at the present Date as will as for ever and all Issues and Profits there of and of every Part and parcell thereof and all the Estate Right Title and Interest Whatsoever of him the Said Robert Bull as Heir at law of the aforesaid James Wardrop of in and to the Said Lands Houses and Premises aforesaid with the Appurtenances To Have & To Hold the Said Severall Tracts or Parcells of Land Dwelling Houses Ware houses and other Houses with the appurtenances unto the Said Adam Thomason his Heirs and Assigns forever to the only proper use And Behoof of the Said Adam Thomason his Heirs and Assigns and to no other use intent or purpose whatsoever and the said Robert Bull doth for himself his Heirs Executors and Administrators Covenant Promise Grant and agree to and with the Said Adam Thompson his Heirs and assigns That he the Said Robert Bull and his Heirs the Said Several Tracts or parcells of land Dwelling House Warehouse and other Houese and other premises with the appurtenances against Him the said Robert Bull and his Heirs as also against all other person or persons Claiming or to claim hereby or under him shall and Will Warrant and forever Defend and Administrators further Covenant promise Grant and Agree to and With the Said Adam Thomson his Heirs and Assigns That he the Said Robert Bull Shall and Will at all Times hereafter upon the Reasonable Request and at the Proper Costs and Charges of the Said Adam Thomson his Heirs or Assigns make do and Execute or Cause or procure to be made done and Executed all and every Such further and other Lawful and Reasonalbe Act and Acts thing & things Devise or Devises Assureance and assurances Conveyance and Conveyances in the Law Whatsoever for the further better & More perfect Giving Granting and Conveying and assuring of all and Singular the Said Several Tracts or parcells of Lands Dwelling House Ware house and other Houses and other the premises with their appurtenances unto the Said Adam Thomson his Heirs & Assigns to the only proper use & Behoof of the Said Adam Thomson his Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the true Intent and meaning of these presents as by the Said Adam Thomason his Heirs or Assigns or his or their Council Learned in the Law Shall be reasonably devise advis'd and Requested In Witness Whereof the party first above mentioned hath Hereunto Set his hand and Affixed his seal the Day & year first above

      On the Back of which Deed was thus Indorsed On the Eighth Day of June one Thousand Seven hundred & Sixty five The within mentioned Robert Bull personally appeared before me one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court and Acknowledged the Within Instrument of Writing to be his act and Deed to and for the uses Intents and Purposes within Mentioned and the Several Tracts and parcells of land Dwelling Warehouse and other Houses and premises with the Appurttenances to be the Estate Right Title and Interest of him the said Adam Thomson his Heirs and Assigns according to the true Intent and meaning of the said Deed and the act of Assembly in Such Cases Made & provided Before J. Hepburn June the 8th 1765 Then Received of the Within Mentioned Adam Thomson the Sum of Three hundred and Twenty five pounds Sterling Being the Consideration Money within Mentioned Witness my hand the Day & year above Written
