      Will of GILES VANDAGESTEEL. I Giles vandagesteel of Stafford County being sick and weak at this present time .. give and bequeath the land
      I bought of THOMAS STAFFORD unto my Daughter PRISCILLA if my wife be not with child of a man child .. unto MARTHA TILLET the daughter of JOHN TILLET deced the 100 acres of land lying at Ocququon which I gave in exchange for the land which I give unto WILLIAM STINSON, THOMAS MARLEY & DANL. MARLEY .. the 150 acres of land I had of John Tillet with the proviso they pay according to agreement that is 4500 pounds of Tobo. 1500 this year and the remainder the year following ,. to my Cousin SARAH TILLLT three cows and calves .. 1 will and require my Cousin John Tillet as soon as of full ago to make over the land which I formerly gave his Brother JOHN TELLET the same land to make over to his younger Brother BONONY for the which I forgive him all debts due from him to me of tobacco Corne and goods & I do bequeath a ring of 15s price .. to my Daughter SARAH a ring of 20 shillings price .. require all my estate to be equally divided according to law between my loving wife MARTHA and her and or children by me begotten .. appoint my trusty and well beloved friend JOHN BALL, HENRY HALEY SENR. & ROBT. WILLIAMS Planter my Executors in Trust I give a ring of 12s price. GEORGE MASON and JOHN WAUGH JUNR. Gent, as being my honoured Friends in my lifetime I do humbly their assistance if my Excrs. require it .. none of my Estate be appraised „ that my wife not be dispossessed my plantation I now dwell upon till my daughter Sarah come to age fourteen or married .. this 28th day Febry. 1699.

      Virginia Genealogical Quarterly, Volume XXXV, Number 2 (1 May 1997), transcribes John Mercer's Land Book (Abstracted by Wesley E. Pippenger) in which on 13 Oct 1730, John Mercer is released from a lease of land formerly owned by John Waugh, deceased, and managed by his executors: David Waugh, Priscilla Hay (formerly Vandergasteel), and the now deceased Joseph Waugh and Alexander Waugh. The four executors were to sell the land, but had not done so by 1730

      This Indenture made 11th/12th September 1723 between JOSEPH WAUGH, DAVID WAUGH and PRISCILLA HAY Widdow Surviving Executors of the Last Will & Testament of JOHN WAUGH of County Stafford Gent. deceased of one part and the Reverd. ALEXANDER SCOTT of said County Clerk of other part Witnesseth that whereas John Waugh aforesaid by his Last Will & Testament bearing date 8th October 1716 duely proved in Stafford County among other things ordered that his Executors should sell sundry lotts in the town of Marlbrough with the lands and edifices thereon as also 1000 acres of land upon Wolfe Run in the said county Stafford in these words following vizt; Item it is my Will and meaning that my lotts in the towns of Marlbrough with the lands and edifices thereon be by my Executors sold and disposed of for the good of my children and the product thereof wholly to return to them and also one thousand acres of land granted to me by Pattent from the Proprietors office lying upon Wolfe run which I leave in the like manner to be disposed of by my Executors and the product thereof to be putt for the use of my children .. Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the surviving Executors of the Last Will & Testament of John Waugh deced for Tenn thousand pounds of good tobacco and the within mentioned sum of five shillings Sterling doth sell 1000 acres part of a parcel bounded . Beginning at a red oake standing by the side of Wolfe Run .. being laid out for 1025 acres and being granted unto John Waugh deced by pattent bearing date 25th of ffebruary 1709 the said 1000 acres part of the said 1025 being left to be sold .. Waugh .. doth further agree that John Waugh an Infant under the age of 21 years oldest Son of the said John Waugh deced shall as soon as he shall arrive to full age of twenty one years .. or in case John should die before arrive at 21 that then the next surviving son of the said John Waugh the Father deced shall be right heir unto the said John Waugh -. acknowledged in county court of Stafford or in case the said County of Stafford shall be divided then in the County where the said 1000 acres of land shall lye and be such further deeds for the conveying

      STAFFORD COUNTY VA WILL BOOK M; 1729-1748; THE ANTIENT PRESS pp 362-363 In Name of God Amen I JOHN WAUGH of County of Stafford in Parish of Overwharton being Sick do make this my Last will and Testament in manner as followeth Vizt First I give my soul to god, next I leave my body to earth.
      Item I give unto JOHN AND THOMAS MONK all Mv land in Prince William County on the branches and run of Popeshead and Johnemore to them and their heirs to be Equally devided between them and heirs of their bodies lawfully begotten and for want of such heirs I lease it to PRISCILLA MONK and heirs of her body.
      Item I give unto Prissilla Monk all that land on South side of Occoquon at the Fork of her and heirs and for want of such heirs I leave to John and Thomas Monk to be equally divided between them to their heirs.
      Item I give unto MARY WAUGH LUNSFORD all my land adjoining to the Glebe between Potomack and Accokeek Runs to her and her heirs and for want of heirs I leave it to PRISCILLA HAY and her heirs.
      Item my desire is that what little Personal Estate it hath pleased almighty to bestow upon me I leave it to be kept together for the support of the three children John, Thomas and Priscilla, Supposing they all continue together Likewise all my Rents to be in the same manner disposed of only 500 pounds of Tobacco to be paid out of my rents towards the support of MARY WAUCH LUNSFORD for five years, and after the 5th year 1000 pounds of Tobacco yearly tell she has got the Land left her in my will in possession.
      Item I give unto SARAH CHADWELL daughter of GEORGE CHADWELL if the said George should have no son but if he have a son then to his son 2000 pounds of Tobacco and Five pounds current money to be paid when she or he arrive to the age of 21 years. And likewise to BRYANT CHADWELL Son of WM. CHADWELL the same sum of money and tobacco when he comes to age of 21 years.
      Item I give unto WILLIAM CHADWELL Son of Bryant Chadwell 2000 pounds of Tobacco and five pounds current to money to be paid unto him when he arrives to 21 years of age.
      Item I give unto MEALY WHITECOTTEN Son of SARAH WHITE COTTEN 2000 pounds of Tobacco and Five pounds current money to be paid when he shall arrive to age of 21 years.
      Item I give unto THOMAS CONWAY 450 pounds of Tobacco to be paid in June in the year 1744.
      Item it is my desire that ELISABETH MONK Mother of JOHN, THOMAS and PRISSILLA MONK stay with them and have the looking after and bringing them up during the time her good behaviour and unmarried if she misbehave or marry, it is my desire she stay no longer.
      Item I do constitute WILLIAM MOUNTJOY and Elizabeth Monk my whole and sole Executors of this my Last Will .. this Sixth day

      1731-1732 Prince William County, Virginia Deed Book A [June Whitehurst Johnson]:
      Pages 311-316. Aug. 15, 1732. David Waugh of Parish of Overwharton in Stafford, planter and Priscella Hays of same, widow executor of last will and testament of John Waugh, surviving executor, and John Waugh son and heir of the said John Waugh dec. to Alexander Scott of same....granted to John Waugh by Proprietors on. Feb. 25, 1709....1025 a. on Wolf Run....and John Waugh made his last will in writing dated Oct. 8, 1716 and directed the said land be sold by his executors in these words following, it is my will and meaning that my lotts in the Town of Marlborough be sold for good of my children.... appoint his executors Joseph Waugh, Alexander Waugh and said David Waugh and Priscella Hay (then Priscella Vandegostell) and recorded among the records of Stafford Co....whereas Alexander Waugh one of the executors died soon after the said John Waugh....afterwards the said Joseph Waugh, David Waugh, and Priscella Hay by their deeds of lease and release dated 11/12 of Sept. 1723.....for 1000 lbs. of Tob. and 5 shillings sterl. sell to Alexander Scott the said land... John Waugh then an infant under the age of twenty-one, would as soon as he should arrive to full age sign seal execute and deliver unto the Alexander Scott such deed or deeds as should be sufficient to comfirme a perfect estate in fee simple....Joseph Waugh since departed this life and David Waugh and Priscella Hays are the only surviving executors...John Waugh eldest son of John Waugh has now arrived at full age of 21.
