      I William Wood being sick and weak in body .. give to AMY RAWLEIGH the daughter of William RAWLEIGH two pewter dishes, 1 dozn of plates a tankard a saltsellar & a brass candlestick .. give to my Cousin ANN HINSON 100 acres of land vizt. next to JOHN GRIGSBY on the Northern end or side of my land ., in case she dye before she comes of age or without heir then give the 100 acres to my friend WM. HEABERD .. give WILLIAM ROWLEY a certain parcel of land which joins upon the land I sold THOMAS GREGG and to Rowleys own land to extend so far as the old field goes to go down the rige next ROBERT JONES his corn field se down the line of Thomas Gregg to him the said William Rawleigh .. give to GEORGE PROCTOR my one hundred acres of land in Richmond County on Pye Creek .. give all the rest of my Estate in land that is in Richmond County & elsewhere to my loving friend William Heaberd as also all the rest of my personal estate .. and I make him my Execr .. this 6th day June 1706.

      In Obedience to an order of Court dated 10th July 1706 We the Subscribers did make appraismt of the Estate of WM. WOOD deced which was brought before us by Mr. WM. HEABERD we being first sworn according to the Tenor of the order of which this underwritten is a true inventory vizt. .. mentions among other items .. 1 pair pistols 6 two pair holsters, two swords, 1 breast plate 600 a cute of worn clothes 300 ., shirt 50 .. 1 pestle 50 .. dishes, plates, etc. total value 1200 .. Will Heaberd. Appraisers WM. BURTON, WM. SMITH, THOS. HARRIS. Sworn before GEORGE ANDERSON.

      BE IT KNOWN unto all men by these presents that I WILLIAM WEBB before Wedlock to Mrs. MARY WILLIAMS do give the said MRS. WILLIAMS free leave and 188 liberty to dispose of the part of her Estate hereafter men coned to her three Children (Viz.) to her Eldest Daughter MARY WOOD, one hundred acres of land out of five hundred acres of land that was bought of Mr. FRANCIS HALE on the North side of the Rappa: River; also one gray Mare of four years old with all her female increase to her and her heirs forever. To WILLIAM WOOD One hundred acres out of ye same Divident and where JOHN JONES now liveth; also one Mare of two years old with all her female increase to him and his heirs forever Also to MARY and WILLIAM WOOD three head of Cattle all bred out of the Stock of their Father, WILLIAM WOOD, deceasd. them and their female increase forever to them and their heires forever. Also to KATHARINE WILLIAMS One hundred acres of land out of the above menconed divident, one Mare Filly with all her female increase to her and her heires forever. Also two breeds of Cattle of the Stock Mr. HUGH WILLIAMS deced them and all their female increase forever. the said Mares & Cattle to be delivered and recorded for their proper use by the last of January next insuing, Also their land to be in like manner recorded by him or them that the sd MARY WILLIAMS shall think most fitt and in case of mortality of any of these three heare menconed Children their Estate above menconed to fall to the other that shall be living if two be left to be equally divided if one to have it fully and wholly to itselfe; To this Gift I the above menconed WILLIAM WEBB do freely condercind it being our Agreement made betwixt us before wee ware married.       TO ALL CHRISTIAN PEOPLE to whome this present writing shall come, I WILLIAM WOOD now living and residing in the County of STAFFORD in Virginia send Greeting in our Lord God everlasting; Now know yee that I WILLIAM WOOD for divers good causes and considerations me hereunto moveing but more particularly for the full summe of Eight thousand six hundred and ninety five pounds of tobbacco by me and by my order in hand already received of THOMAS GREGG of the County aforesaid, by these presents do bargaine sell and confirme unto THOMAS GREGG his heirs one hundred and sixty eight acres of land lying in County of Richmond and bounded, Begining att a markt. Gum tree standing in or by a branch of POPLAR SWAMP and extending thence So. So. East 246 poles to a markt white Oake being a corner tree of one hundred acres of land formerly one EVEN WILLIAMS, thence North 77 degrees West one hundred and sixty poles along said WILLIAMS lyne to a markt Hickory tree standing by an old marked Beach by a branch; thence North 48 poles to another markt Hickory, then North 63 degrees West 60 poles to another markt. Hickory, thence North 46 degrees West 64 poles, thence East North East 174 poles to the first mentioned Gum gree att the beginning, which one hundred and sixty eight acres of land is part of a tract of Five hundred acres granted to me the said WILLIAM WOOD by an Escheat Patent out of the Proprietors Office beareingd ate the twenty third day of Febry. one thousand seven hundred and five with all its rights members and appurtenances belonging; To have and to hold the said one hundred and sixty eight acres of land with all the premises hereby granted unto THOMAS GREGG his heiress In Faith and Testimony of the premises I WM.       The deposition of ANN HOPKINS Wife of JOHN HOPKINS aged about Thirty years being first sworn saith .. That she this deponent is the reputed daughter of MARY HINSON and Heir to WILLIAM WOOD of Stafford County deceased and that about Twenty years ago She was saved by the Indians that committed the Murders at JOHN ROWLEY'S Plantation in a small time after the said Murder her Uncle WILLIAM WOOD carried this Deponent to the House of EVAN JONES and that she staid there till her Mother came from pensilvania and carried her down to James River and ffurther this Deponent saith not .. pursuant to an order of King George County Court dated the Second day of October 1725. This deposition
      was taken before me this Twenty Sixth day of October 1725.

      The deposition of MARY ROWLY aged about ffifty three years being first sworn Saith .. That ANN HINSON Daughter of MARY HINSON and now wife of JOHN HOPKINS is the same Girl that was saved by the Indians when they committed the Murders at JOHN ROWLEY'S PLANTATION and this Deponent further Saith that she was present when her Uncle WILLIAM WOOD made his Will and therein left the said ANN HINSON one hundred acres of land binding on the land of JOHN GREGSBY and that some time after this Deponent and her husband sent the said Ann word of the said Land being left her by her Uncle upon which she being at James River she returned again and further this Deponent Saith not. Pursuant to an order of King George County Court dated the Second day October 1725 this Deposition was taken before us this 26th October 1725.
