      Wife: Mary - all estate during her life, to be sold after her decease and divided into five equal parts, one-fifth part to each of the following heirs: Catherine Horton and Elizabeth Green; Hannah James, wife of Thomas James; Mary Nelson, widow of John Nelson, Jr., dec'd.; Thomas Nelson and Joseph Nelson (sons).

      THIS INDENTURE made Between JAMES HORE, Gent., of Westmoreland County of one part and JOHN NELSON, Planter of other part; Witnesseth this 28th day of September 1740 that JAMES HORE hath and by these presents doth demise set and to farm let one parcel of land by estimation One hundred acres more or less scituate in Westmorland County bounded, Begining at a white Oak standing near the Branch which divides this land from the Land of Capt. AUGUSTINE WASHINGTONs, extending thence Easterly along a line of marked trees to a Fence, thence along the Fence which divides the said HORE's Quarter Plantation to a Locust tree standing a value in the line which divides this land from the Land of WM. WEEKS, thence Southerly along the said line to the corner, thence along the head line to a Hiccory tree standing on a small Ridge, thence along a line of marked trees to the Mane Branch, thence down the Branch to the begining; in consideration of the Rents and Duties hereafter mentioned dureing the term of the natural life of sd. JOHN NELSON and MARY his present Wife, with all houses orchards profits and appurtenances belonging; but it shall not be law- full for ,JOHN NELSON or MARY his Wife to sell or make waste with any sort of Timber then for use of the aforesaid Plantation, and it shall not be lawful for JOHN NELSON or MARY his Wife to sell or lease any part thereof to any person; paying yearly unto JAMES HOPE his heirs on the 10th day of March the neat sum or quantity of Six hundred and fifty pounds of tobacco and cask according to Law; In Witness whereof the parties above named have interchangeably set their hands and seals the day and year above written
