      Witneaseth ... by deeds of lease & release ... for 15 pounds lawful money of Virginia hath sold tract whereon JANE RIGBY Widow and Relict of ALEXANDER RIGBY late of said County now lives containing 50 acre in Parish of St. Pauls Stafford County & being formerly property of EDWARD LAWYER late of this County who held the same in ffee Simple & in his Last Will & Testament date 8th January 1739/40 bequeathed same to his Grand daughter ANN LAWYER who intermarried with and is now the Wife of WILLIAM ADAMS .. Bounded as followeth .. Pauls County of Stafford and Whereas Ann is unable to travel to our Court of Stafford in her proper person to acknowledge the said Deed .. Therefore we do give unto you full power to receive the acknowledgment which said Ann shall be willing to make .. and we command that you do personally go a receive her acknowledgment of same whether she doth the same freely without threats and persuasions of her husband and when you have .. Sending then the said Deeds and this Writing

      Know all men .. I Wm. Adams of Parish Truro County of Fairfax am bound unto Henry Fitzhugh Junr. of Parish of St. Pauls Stafford County in sum 2000 pounds Sterling .. 19th August 1755. The Condition .. Whereas one EDWD. SAWYER late of Stafford County by his Last Will in writing 8th January 1739/40 devised to Ann the Wife of said William Adams by the name of his Granddaughter Ann Sawyer all the rest of his Estate personal and real not otherwise assigned by his said Will to her in fee tail and whereas William Adams & Ann have conveyed to Henry Fitzhugh Junr. Tract contained in the said Devise Now forasmuch as diverse Slaves were likewise conveyed to Ann in the Clause in the said Will .. if said William at the request of Henry Fitzhugh Junr. by sufficient deeds that is to say if William shall prevail on Ann to Dock the Intail of the land and Slaves annext & convey the same .. from every demand of said Ann .. heirs .. may at any time subject Fitzhugh to upon claim or right which she or heirs may set
      up to said tract then the obligation be void otherwise remain ..
