      Comment: The daus. ages 10, 8, and 7 would appear to be the daus. Susanna, Linny and Cloe named in Gilbert's will.

      1778 - Gilbert Simpson took the Oath of Allegiance to Maryland in Prince George's Co. before the Hon. Fielder Bowie.

      Comment: Brumbaugh, Vol. 1, p. 303, says it's Peter Bowie and gives the date of Mar. 25, 1779.

      Aug. 2, 1794 - Rec'd of Mr. Joseph Simpson, admr. of Gilbert Simpson, deceased, the sum of 7 pounds, being part of the estate in full for all dues, debts, demands by me. Signed Hosannah [sic] Simpson, Cloey Simpson, Lender? Simpson. (signatures not marks.)

      1749-1775 - John Simms is found in Loudoun Co., Va. during the period 1749-1775. His first child was first listed in the 1767 Loudoun Co., Va., Tax List. This makes father John Simms b. by 1725.

      Comment: Mr. Sims stated that in Fairfax/Loudon John Simms lived next to Gilbert Simpson, who was also from Charles Co. Robert Neibling, the authority on Gilbert Simpson in Virginia, stated that he could not verify that this is as true.
