      I give & bequeath as follows
      1 - I give unto my beloved son Abraham Lay, Jr. one negro woman, Lucky & son of hers
      2 - I give unto my son Emanuel Lay, one negro woman,Winney & child Rachel
      3 - I give unto my son Joseph Lay, one negro man, Harry
      4 - I give unto my son Stephen Lay, one negro man, Will, one negro boy, Wallace, one negro girl, Vinah, also the lot of land on Carter's Tract whereon he now lives adjoining Nicholas Grymes, also all that part of my stock that have as may be left on sd Plantation on Christmans Day next ensuing, also one wagon 7 gear, 2 feather beds
      5 - I give unto my daughter Prudence Ellsey, wife of John Ellsey, one negro girl, Sally and after her decease to her son Lewis Ellsey, if Lewis should die without heirs should go to Lydia Lewis & her heirs

      10 - I give unto my daughter Athesias, wife of Pressley Self, one negro girl, Hannah and her increase during her life then at her decease to Sylvanias Jenkins, her son by Amos Jenkins, if he should die without heirs, to my son Stephen Lay
      11 - I give unto my grandson Marmaduke Lay, son of Sylvanius a negro, Tom,one feather bed & furniture, 2 cows & calves to be delivered at my death or when he arrives at age 21, but if he shall die without heirs, then negro boy is to go his sister, my granddaughter, daughter of before mentioned Sylvanus Lay, to her name be unknown, but for want of heirs of her body, return to estate
      12 - I give & bequeath to my sons Abraham Lay & Emanuel Lay, the plantation I now live on, after their mother's decease, one acre of ground for my burial, excepted to them and their proper use, lastly, the residue of my estate, real or personal after my last debts & legals be paid & after my wife's decease, that it be equally be divided among my children except Stephen, who has my pleasure already & to have no share in the division, I do ordain my sons Abraham, Emanuel & Stephen or any two of them my sole executors of this my last will & testament, disannulling & revoking all former wills
      & testaments by me heretofore made 28th October 1784
