      1780-1784 Prince George's County, Maryland Land Records Liber FF 1 [Abstract by Mike Marshall]; Page 123. At the request of Francis Freeland the following Land Commission was enrolled March 29, 1781
      Memorandum that on the special petition of Francis Freeland of PGCo preferred to the justices of the county on the 4th Tuesday of August 1779 for a land commission was issued on August 27, 1779; to Messrs Richard Duckett, Jr., Baruch Duckett, Thomas Macgill and John Macgill of PGCo Gentleman, whereas Francis Freeland is seized of tracts "Piney Hedge", "Becks Chance", "Becks Addition", "Second Meadow", "Osborn's Lott", "Parcel Enlarged" and "Mitchell's Addition" and preferred his petition in writing to our county court held at Upper Marlborough Town for a commission to examine evidence to prove and perpetuate the memory of the bounds of the said tracts of land. Therefore, we command you any three or two of you to examine all witnesses or persons concerned touching their knowledge of the bounds of the said tracts.       By virtue of a commission to examine evidences to prove the bounds of "Piney Hedge", "Becks Chance", "Becks Addition", "Second Meadow", "Osborn's Lott", "Parcel Enlarged" and "Mitchell's Addition" we met Wednesday, December 1, 1779 according to advertisement, at a white oak sapling standing at the John Hill's old field about 40 yards east from the main road that leads from the Chapel in Queen Anne Parish to Patuxent Ironworks
      Charles Wood age 37 years saith about 10 years ago Leonard Waring began at the white oak sapling to run out "Mitchell's Addition" on a resurvey at the same place.
      John Mitchell aged 63 years saith that his father John Mitchell, deceased about 36 years ago showed him the white oak sapling and told him it was the beginning tree of "Mitchell's Addition".
      Gabriel Duvall aged 27 years saith about 14 years ago James Beck, deceased told him the white oak sapling was the beginning tree of John Mitchell's land
      John Mitchell, Jr. aged 25 years at the same place saith that he was with Leonard Waring about 10 years ago when he ran out "Mitchell's Addition" to make a resurvey on it and he began at the white oak sapling.
      James Beck aged 43 years at the same place saith about 20 years ago he was in company with his father James Beck, deceased and John Mitchell and they began at the white oak sapling and run the 1st course of "Mitchell's Addition" and further saith about 18 months after that he was in company with his father James Beck, deceased and John F.A. Priggs and run from the white oak sapling to find the end of the 1st line of "Mitchell's Addition". We then proceeded to a stone standing in the middle of Francis Freeland's orchard
      James Beck aged 43 years saith about 30 years ago he was in company with his father James Beck, deceased and Samuel Waters, deceased and others when the stone was planted and told by them the stone was the beginning of a tract called "Piney Hedge" where formerly stood a tree.
      Anthony Beck aged 42 years saith about 15 years ago Samuel Waters, deceased showed him the stone and told him he would testify to it being the beginning boundary of "Piney Hedge". We then proceeded to a live red oak standing in the woods and northwest of the house where David Mitchell now lives
      John Mitchell aged 63 years saith about 36 years ago his father John Mitchell, deceased showed him the red oak and told him it was a dividing boundary of "Mitchell's Addition" between him and his brother David Mitchell and further saith Joseph Peach, deceased at the same time ran out the land and told him it was a corner tree of John Mitchell's part of "Mitchell's Addition". We then proceeded to a light white oak standing on the south side of Mitchell's Branch
      Samuel Beck aged 43 years saith about 26 years ago his father James Beck, deceased showed him the white oak tree and told him it was the beginning tree of "Becks Addition" and further saith Samuel Waters, deceased the white oak tree several times since and told him it was the beginning tree of "Becks Addition"
      Anthony Beck aged 42 years saith about 20 years ago his father James Beck, deceased and Samuel Waters, deceased shewed him the white oak and told him it was the beginning tree of "Becks Addition". We proceeded to a small pine tree standing on the south side of Mitchell's Branch
      James Beck aged 43 years saith he saw the pine bounded for the beginning tree of "Second Meadow"
      Anthony Beck aged 42 years saith he saw the pine bounded for the beginning tree of "Second Meadow". We then proceeded to a white oak tree standing southerly from the house where Jacob Riddle now lives
      James Beck aged 43 years saith about 26 years ago his father James Beck, deceased shewed him the white oak tree and told him it was the beginning tree of "Becks Chance" and further saith that Samuel Waters, deceased told him the same
