On 21 June, 1693, John Emerson and his wife Ann conveyed to Isaac Winchester their right to Wheatstone formerly bought by Thomas Emerson from Stephen Wheatstone and sold to William Hemsley and by Hemsley to John Emerson, on a branch of the Wye River called Thomas Emerson's New Ground Great Branch.
