KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I DAVID BLACKWELL of County of Prince William am held and firmly bound unto ZACHARIAH LEWIS of County of FAUQUIER in sum of One thousand pounds current money of Virginia to which payment I bind myself dated this thirtieth day of October in year One thousand seven hundred and
seventy nine
The Condition of this obligation is that Whereas the above named ZACHARIAH LEWIS hath by a Deed of Gift granted unto ANN BLACKWELL, Daughter of said ZACHARIAH LEWIS, and Wife to the above bounded DAVID BLACKWELL, and her heirs for ever a parcel of land containing Ninety acres as her full part of a tract of three hundred and ninety acres Provided Allways that if LUCY LEWIS, MARY LEWIS, ELIZABETH LEWIS or HANNAH LEWIS (Daughters of said ZACHARIAH LEWIS) or either of them should die before marriage & then in such case the said tract of Three hundred and ninety acres shall be equally divided between said ANN BLACKWELL and the Survivors, If therefore said DAVID BLACKWELL or his heirs or any other person under him doth not at any
time hereafter claim or commence a suit in Law for any greater quantity of the said Tract than the above Ninety acres already granted to said ANN BLACKWELL by Deed of Gift (except as above excepted) then this obligation to be void or otherwise to remain in full force in presence of JNO.
