    • WILL OF JANE ARMISTEAD
      In the name * * * istead of York County widow being in perfect sense and memory do make this my last will and testament as follows, hereby revoking all other wills by me heretofore made, Inprimis, I resign my soul to Almighty God and desire my body may be buried as my Executor may desire. Item, I give to my son Ellyson Armistead my tract of land in Prince George County to him and his heirs forever. Item, my will is that all the rest of my Estate be divided into two equal parts one of which I give to my said son Ellyson and the other I desire may be equally divided equally among my three daughters Frances, Jane and Elizabeth and my son Charles Armistead. Lastly I appoint Lewis Burwell of James City County sole executor of this my will. In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this 25th day of July in the year of our Lord, one thousand seven hundred and fifty-eight

      Whereas * * * * * * my negroes and persona * * * * two equal parts one of which * * * * — son and have directed * * * * the * * * * * between my three daughters Franc* * * son Charles, & whereas my daughter * * departed this life leaving behind a daughter named Frances Anderson Nelson I do hereby declare so much of my will as relates to my daughter Frances to be void and I do hereby give to her child Frances Anderson my negro girl Riss and my negro boy Milin provided the said Frances shall arrive to the age of eighteen or marry then my will is that the said two negroes shall be divided equally between my two daughters and son Charles and I do hereby declare this Codicil to be part of my will
