THIS INDENTURE made this 16th day of June 1777 Between JOHN DEER and CATHARINE his Wife of County of Culpeper of one part and JOHN BROWN of County aforesaid Witnesseth that said John Deer and Catharine his Wife for sum forty pounds current money of Virginia have sold unto said John Brown one hundred and twenty five acres of land in Culpeper County and Bromfield Parish on the Goardvine Fork of Rappahanock River joining on GREENS & MORES MOUNTAIN and cornering on the Hazel River and bounded Begining at a gum a Corner to ROBERT JONES at the mouth of a small branch on the bank of the Hazel River on the No. side thereof & runs thence South to a red oak in said Deers line thence with that line North to three red oaks on the South side of Greens & Mores Mountains a Corner to WILLIAM JONES thence with his line and Robert Jones line South to the begining place John Deer
