William Canter, June 7, 1798; September 10, 1798
I, William Canter of CC being weak in body but of sound mind and perfect memory
To grandson William Hickey, that part of a tract of land on which I now live; negoes, Daniel and George, my youngest horse, one cow and calf, one bed and furniture, one looking glass and one chest.
To granddaughter Susannah Lyon, negro Sally, one horse, one bed and furniture, one cow and calf, one chest, one looking glass.
To daughter Jane Lyon, negroes Cesar and Harry, one cow and calf.
To son James Canter, negro Nace.
To daughter Ann Hickey, negroes Robert and Milley.
To daughter Susanna Moran, negroes Natt and Phellas, one cow and calf. If she should die without issue, then equally divided between the lawful heirs of my body.
To daughter Elizabeth Canter, negroes Minty and Terry, one bed and furniture, one cow and calf, one chest, one oval table and one tea Kettle.
To son-in-law Gabriel Moran, the sum of five shillings current money of Maryland.

At the request of Francis Hickey the following Bill of Sale was recorded September 12, 1809
I William Hickey in consideration of 200 pounds paid by Francis Hickey has sold Negro George (16 yrs.), 2 cows, 1 yearling, 3 horses and all the household furniture is now in my possession.
In witness I have hereunto set my hand and seal this September 12, 1809, William Hickey, in the presence of and acknowledged before Benjamin Contee, Samuel Ogden

Indenture made September 12, 1809; William Hickey in consideration of $500 current money of the United States paid by Francis Hickey has sold a tract being "Lot Number 40" lying in Calverton Manor containing 117 acres. Indenture made April 27, 1813; William Hickey and Mary Hickey his wife and Alexander Edwards in consideration of $192.50 paid by Ahasuerus Davis has sold a mill seat and lands adjoining 13 acres 2 rods and 10 perches being part of a tract called Calverton's Manor and bounded by Swanson's Creek. Indenture made April 27, 1813; Alexander Edwards in consideration of $500 current money paid by William Hickey and Mary Hickey his wife has sold the remaining part of a tract being lot number 40
in Calverton Manor containing 117 acres out of which Alexander Edwards and others have deeded to Ahasuerus Davis 13 acres 2 rods and 10 perches and whereas there yet remains 103 acres 1 Rod and 30 perches to William Hickey and his wife so long as they shall live and after their decease the said Alexander Edwards does hereby acknowledged to be fully satisfied for the above mentioned lands. And for diverse good causes does grant that then after the decease of William Hickey and wife every child of theirs then living shall possess and enjoy an equal portion forever
