      July 23 - To Bowman's funeral at Col. Fitzhugh's and home (12). [At "Eagle's Nest" on Potomac River in
      present King George County, the seat of Colonel Henry FitzHugh (ca.1706-1742), is a massive tomb of "Capt. Samuel Bowman of Whitehaven, Born the 10 June 1681, Died the 18 July 1742." His will is of record at Stafford Court, dated 18 June 1742, in which he describes himself as a mariner of the City of Glasgow.
      It was proved 14 September 1742 (Stafford County Book M, page 337).]
