Comment: The purpose of this record is to show that George and Catherine Tennison were the parents of 2 sons: George W. Tennison and James L. Tennison who was the already deceased father of the 4 orphans shown in this record.
Mrs. Hayden's letter enlcosed a copy of a page from a family bible showing that James L. Tennison was b. Feb. 5, 1820.

George Tennison (wife Catherine) and # 96 James L. Tennison (wife Susan Canter) who are shown in my Tennison, Vol. 4.

Linda Reno Note: The following is incorrect. These were the children of George Mills and his wife, Elizabeth Tennison (daughter of Absalom Tennison, d. 1775 and his wife, Susanna).

Comment: This is the earlist record I am attributing to #79 George Tennison (and his brother #76 Absolam Tennison), and the record is really only placed here for that purpose.
Understanding this record, and both what it says and what it means about the parentage of the three Tennison orphans is beyond my ability to explain. For a discussion of that
subject, see Tennison, Vol. 3, Page 137-8.

Elizabeth and the children (except Elizabeth) moved to KY about 1789.
