      THIS INDENTURE made this third day of February in the year One thousand Six hundred Sixty & three Between THOMAS GOODRICH of the County of Rappa. Esqr. of one part & JUNIFER PLOWER of SHADWELL in the County of MIDDLESEX in the Realm of England Marriner of other part Whereas BARTHOLOMEW HOPKINS of ELIZA. RIVER in the County of LOWER NORFFS. in Virga. Planter by his Deed Poll dated the Thirteenth day of October in the year One thousand Six hundred Fifty & five for the consideracon expressed did sell unto JOHN GREEN late of CHUCKATUCK in the County of UPR, NORFFS. in Virga. Merchant & his heirs for ever Six hundred acres of land being on the South side of RAPPA. RIVER which sd land was part of thirteen hundred & fifty acres granted by Sr. WILLIAM BERKLEY Ent. Governour then of Virga. unto the sd HOPKINS by Pattent of the sd granted doth appear & for bounds the sd Six hundred acres of land hegineth at a Stake standing in the Marsh of a small Creek called by the name of TIGNERS CREEK extending up the sd RAPPA. RIVER for the full breadth of the aforesd Six hundred acres of land North West from the utmost extent of the sd breadth So. West a mile into the woods according to the bounds of the Pattent To have and to hold the sd Six hundred acres of land to the sole use of the sd JOHN GREEN his heirs & assignes for ever & Whereas the sd JOHN GREEN by certaine articles of agreemt. dated the last day of July in the fourteenth year of our Sovrn CHARLES the Second made between the sd JOHN GREEN of the one part & the sd JUNIFER PLOWER of the other part for the consideration of Five thousand pounds & cask of good sound well conditioned sweet scented Virga Tobo bundled in leaf & in cask & to he clear of ground leaves to be delivered Freight Free to the sd JOHN GREEN his Exrs. or assignes at CHESTERS KEY in LONDON in the Realm of England at or before the last of July which should be in the year One thousand Six hundred Sixty & three did bargaine and sell unto the sd JUNIFER PLOWER his heirs & assignes for ever Six hundred acres of land with the appurtenances being in Virga abutting upon RAPPA. RIVER on the part of the South begining at a Creek called TIGNELLS CREEK & so extending up the side of the sd River for the breadth thereof abbutting upon the land of the late CLEMENT THRUSH deced which sd premises the sd JOHN GREEN purchased of BARTHOLOMEW HOPKINS of ELIZA. RIVER in the County of LOWER NORFFS. in Virga. as aforesaid deced as in & by the sd Articles of Agreemt. more at large appeareth & Whereas the sd JOHN GREEN by his Letter of Attorney bearing date the (blank) day of July in the fourteenth year of the Reign of CHARLES the Second 1662 did constitute appoint & sett his trusty & well beloved Friends Coll. JOHN CARTER & the sd Majr. THOMAS GOODRICH party to these presents his true & lawfull Attorneys jointly & severally (missing) his name place & stead to assigne unto the sd JUNIFER PLOWER his heirs & assignee the Six hundred acres of land with the appurtenances lying in abbutting upon RAPPA RIVER on the part of the South which he lately purchased of BARTHOLOMEW HOPKINS of ELIZA. RIVER County of LOWER NORFFS. in Virga. as by Letter of Attorney more at large appeareth Now Witnesseth that THOMAS GOODRICH for the sum of Five thousand pounds of sweet scented tobacco & cask clear of ground leaves to be paid & delivered unto JOHN GREEN as expressed in sd Articles of Agreemt. path sold unto the sd JUNIFER PLOWER the sd Six hundred acres of land with appurtenances on South side of RAPPA RIVER together withall the priviledges whatsoever appertaining to hold the said land unto sd JUNIFER PLOWER his heirs & assignes for ever & the sd THOMAS GOODRICH doth promise on behalf of the sd JOHN GREEN that he said JUNIFER PLOWER his heirs or assignes shall at all times hereafter possess the said land without the evicion trouble or denial of sd JOHN GREEN his heirs or assignes In Witness whereof the party abovesd set his hand & seale the day & year first above written being fifteenth year of the Reigne of our Sovereign KING CHARLES the Second &c.
