      N THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I REUBIN LONG of County of Culpeper & Parish of St Marks being weak in body but of perfect sense mind and memory .. do think fit to make this my last Will and Testament .. Imprimis it is my will and desire that my just Debts and funeral expences be paid out of that part of my Estate which I lend to my beloved Wife.
      Item I give to my Son GABRIEL LONG all that I formerly lent him which he has in his possession to him & his heirs for ever.
      Item I give to my Son EVAN LONG all that tract of land I formerly lent him and is in his possession to him & his heirs for ever.
      Item I give to my Son ANDERSON LONG all that I formerly lent him and now in his possession to him and his heirs for ever.
      Item I give to my Son NIMROD LONG three young negroes namely Joe, Dinah & Alse, also first choice of two feather beds with their furniture as also my desk and large table, also one sorrel colt to wit the youngest I now have, and also first choice to two cows and calves after the decease of my loving Wife, I also give him all the land and plantation whereon I now live to him & his heirs for ever.
      Item I give to my Daughter FANNY RICHARDSON wife of DANIEL RICHARDSON all that I formerly lent her and has in her possion, also one negro girl Fanny to her and her heirs for ever.
      Item I give to my Daughter PEGGY KAY Wife of ROBERT KAY all that I formerly lent her & now in her possion to her and her heirs for ever.
      Item I give to my Daughter POLLY HARRISON NASH Wife of JOHN NASH all that tract I formerly lent her and in her possion to her and her heirs for ever.
      Item I give the whole residue and remainder of my Estate both real and personal to wit the land and plantation whereon I now live, also all my household and kitchen furniture and plantation tools and stock of every kind Except such of my stock and furniture as I have already mentioned, also the following negroes, Jonathan, George, Frank, Billy, Easter, Phillis, Hannah, Siliney, Sharlotte, Edie, Winney, Siley & Abil, also all my outstanding debts
      I lend to my beloved Wife MARY LONG during her natural life and if she shall see cause to lend any part of the aforesaid estate or the increase thereof to any of her children I leave that to her discretion, and after the decs. of my sd wife my desire is that all the said Estate Except as is before Excepted and disposed of together with the increase thereof to be equally divided between my seven children as above namely Gabriel, Evan, Anderson, Nimrod, Fanny, Peggy & Polly Harrison to them and their heirs for ever, and provided my son Nimrod should die before he enters into wedlock, my desire is that his estate as above mentioned be equally divided between the remain six as above named to them and their heirs for ever.
      And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my beloved Wife Mary Long Executrix and my beloved son Gabriel Long, my beloved Son in Law Robert Kay and my beloved Friend ROBERT COLEMAN JUNR. Executors of this my last Will and Testament In Wit-
      ness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Twenty ninth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety one.

      This last Will and Testament of Reuben Long exhibited to the Court and was proved by the oaths of Thomas Lindsey &Francis Apperson two of the Witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded And at a Court held for the said County the 16th day of July 1792 Gabriel Long, Robert Kay and Robert Coleman Junr. the Executors named in the said Will came into Court and refused to take upon themselves the burthen of the Execution thereof And on the motion of Nimrod Long Letters of Administration with the Will annexed is granted him he having made Oath thereto and given Bond and security ac-

      THIS INDENTURE made this 2 1st day of January in the year of our Lord 1793 Between JOHN APPERSON & ALICE his Wife of County of Culpeper of one part and GABRIEL LONG of County aforesd. of other part, Whereas JOHN FAVER by his Last Will &Testament in writing made & duly proved & recorded in the County hurt of Culpeper did among other things make the following devise, vitt., after the death of my Wife. I give Five hundred & twenty five acres of land whereon I now live with all houses & all that contains thereon to be equally divided among the Children of my Son,
      WM FAVER or the survivors of them, namely ALICE FAVER, HENRETTA FAVER, ISSABELLA
      FAVER, FRANCES FAVER & ROSANNA FAVER, to them & their heirs forever & Wheras since the death of sd JOHN FAVER & Wife the sd. JOHN APPERSON hath intermarried with ALICE FAVER, Daughter of the sd. WM. & Grandaughter to sd. JOHN, whereby he became intitled to one fifth part of sd 525 acres of land which was then undivided since which time the Court of sd. County for carrying into effect the intention of the sd. Testator in this behalf appoint.ed certain Commission together with their Surveyor to go upon the sd, tract of land & lay out & divide the same among the Legatees agreeable to
      the sd Will & allot each one their part & report their proceedings to the sd. Court which division report & alottment was made by sd. Commissioners & Surveyor & is recorded in the Court of sd County by which it appears that there are within the bounds of the tract aforesaid 535 acres, NOW THIS INDENTURE Witnesseth that JOHN APPERSON & ALICE his Wife in consideration of the sum of Two hundred pounds current money to them in hand paid by GABRIEL LONG, by these presents do bargain & sell unto GABRIEL LONG his heirs that part of the land of JOHN FAVER deced so allotted him as afsd. (in right of the sd ALICE his Wife) & containing 107 acres more or less & bounded as in the report Division gi Alottment set forth; Begining at two red Oaks & Hickory in or near HUNTERs Line, thence N. 54 degrees Wt. 200 poles to a Stake in the Plantation, thence North thlrty degrees Et I02 poles to DAVENPORTs corner, two white Oaks & two red Oaks, thence South 39 3/4 degrees East 245 poles to a Hickory, HUNTERS Corner, from thence to the begining; Together with the priviledges & advantages to the same belonging; To have & to hold the tract of land with the appurtenances unto GABRIEL LONG his heirs, and JOHN APPERSON & ALICE his Wife do by these presents warrant and will forever defend the tract of 107 acres of land & premises with the appurtenances unto GABRIEL
      LONG his heirs free & clear from all Incumbrances and claims of all persons; In Witness whereof the sd. JOHN APPERSON & ALICE his Wife have hereunto set their hands & affixed their seals the day &year first written
