      HOWARD, PHILIP. Philip Howard, son of Philip and Sarah Howard,
      was born about 1704 and married Mary ----. Their children were:
      Philip Howard, John Howard, and possibly Christopher Howard.
      Philip moved from Anne Arundel County, Maryland to Frederick
      County, Maryland after 1748. He subsequently became part of the
      Maryland migration to western North Carolina. On November 1,
      1758, he styled himself as "Philip Howard, of Rowan County, North
      Carolina, late of Frederick County, Maryland, planter" when he
      gave power of attorney to his son John Howard to sell land in
      Maryland. No further record after 1767 (Ref:·HWN II-237).
