I would very much like to correspond with anyone else researching the Allisons

Osiller is my 5th great grandmother through my straight maternal mtDNA line. She was born May 24, 1768. Osiller married Henry Tarrant, son of Captain Manlove Tarrant, Oct. 27, 1785, Rockingham Co., NC. She used the name Ellison. I have a copy of a document in which she was applying for Henry's Revolutionary War Pension, and her name is stated as Osiller. Osiller and Henry Tarrant left NC and settled in Greene Co. TN. Osiller died Jan. 22, 1850 in Bailyton, Greene Co. TN. I believe that "Mattie" is most likely Osiller's mother, Martha. The name Osiller is highly unusual. There is an Osiller Duff whose aunt was an Allison in NC. I'm assuming she is Osiller's great niece. The only other Osiller I can find is the Old French surname le Osiller and a few other variations that are also Old French

It's really ironic that Osiller was from Frederick Co because her great granddaughter Margaret Bruner (my gg grandmother) father was Jacob Bruner who descended from the Bruners of Schifferstadt in Frederick Co also. Her name on her headstone is "Margret" rather than Margaret

Osiller married Henry Tarrant. Their daughter Rebecca Tarrant married Joseph McCurry, and their daughter Polly McCurry married Jacob Bruner. All of Osiller's children were born in Greene Co., TN.

By the way, there were a few other Allison men appearing on the Guilford County court records, but I'm unable to place them. If Osiller Allison's name had not appeared on the 1776 Frederick County, MD census with her parents John and Martha at the exact correct age for her, (I have the Tarrant bible with Osiller's birthday in it )and if I had not confirmed her parents name via the Rev. War papers, I would say that she was from the Scottish branch of Allisons due to an affiliation with the the other Allisons in Guilford County whom I believe are Scottish Allisons since I don't see their names on your website.
