      THIS INDENTURE made the 31st January Witnesseth that whereas ROBERT BRUSNER formerly of the County of NAZEMUNN gent now deced did by his last Will & Testamt. give unto his Daughter MARTHA now Wife me WILLIAM MOSELEY as part (missing) portion seven hundred & fifty acres of land situate & being (missing) NANZEMUM called be (missing) the INDIAN TOWN (missing) Will doth appear be(missing) of the aforesaid County NOW KNOW all men by these presents that I the said WILLIAM MOSELEY & MARTHA my Wife do hereby acknowledge to have sold all our right & interest of the aforesaid land from us our heirs or assignes unto RICHARD STAPLES of the County NANZEMUM to him his heirs or assignes for Ever the said Land to Hold with all priviledges thereunto belonging in as full & ample manner as was granted unto the said ROBT. BRUSNER by his Patent or conveyance now Know further that one hundred & fifty acres of the aforesd seven hundred and fifty cres was purchased of one THOMAS MUMFORD & the other six hundred taken up by the said ROBERT BRUSNER now therefore know that we have hereby sold & conveyed & do hereby sell & convey unto the said RICHARD STAPLES his heirs & assignes our due right & interest of the aforesaid land for Ever for a certain satifacion in hand received & in witness that this is truth & our voluntary act & deed we have both the said WILLIAM & MARTHA hereunto sett our hands this day above menconed being the 31st January 1659 being signed sealed & delivered in the presence of

      Nansemond Co., Va. 19 9br [Nov.] 1670. William Alford, Gent., deputy escheator. Writ 16 March last.
      Jury find that Rob: Braseur dyed seized of 1200 acres granted to him by patent lyeing upon the Southerne Branch of Nansemond River which by his will he gave to his daughter[s?] the one moytie of which said tract lyeing on the south side of the branch Rich. Staples who married with one of the said daughters sold and assigned the same to Coll. Jno. Blake who sells and assigner the same to Jno. Newton now seized by virtue thereof, which moyety being 600 acres by reason Rob. Braseur was an alien doth revert to his Sacred Ma[jes]ty: The land doe escheate.

      Nansemond Co., Va. 18 Nov. 1671. Wm. Alford, Gent., deputy escheator. Writ 10 Sept. last past. Jury find that Robert Brassiere dyed seized of 200 acres upon the westward branch of Nansimond River granted him
      by pattent 6 Oct. 1640 and surveyed by Coll. Jno. Blake 10 Dec. 1652 and now by purchase in possession of Jno. Crowden, which by reason Brassiere was an alyen doth escheat.

      Peter Johnson, 600 acres in the county of Warrisquicke, on the south side of Warrisquicke creek, and abutting upon Nansemond River. Due 100 acres by surrender from John Day (to whom it was due for his personal adventure and the transportation of one servant); 150 acres by surrender from Ambrose MEADOR (to whom it was due for his own personal adventure, his wife and one servant); 150 acres due for the transportation of three servants and 200 by surrender from Gabriel Wilson (to whom due for transportation of four servants). June 1, 1636.
      Under this patent the persons named as "headrights" are Peter Johnson, John Day, John POWELL, Ambrose MEADOR, Gabriell Wilson, Jon. Baker, Anne Sharp his wife. This patent was renewed by Sir John Harvey in the names of Robert Brassuer and Peter Rey. Teste me, Thos. Cooke. Cl. George Salisbury, 500 acres in the county of Warrisquick, northeast, on Warrisquick River. Due him by order of Court, December 4, 1634.
