      TO ALL TO WHOM these prsents shall come, I JOHN SAMPSON, Merchant, send Greeting.
      Whereas RICHARD HOBBS of ye County of Rappae. & Parish of FARNHAM & MARY his Wife by their Deed in Writing (undr. their hands & seales) & acknowledged & inrolled according to ye Law in that Case had provided, bearing date ye 22th day of March 1674/5 did for ye consideration therein mentioned sell all that parcell of land being on ye North side of ye abovesd County & being part of that Devident of land they then lived on, & beginning on ye Eastermost side of a Creek commonly known by ye name of Mr. JAMES WILLIAMSONS CREEK And then in ye tenure & possession of one JOHN CHAMBERS it being ye whole quantity lying on yt: side ye Creek belonging to them according to ye antient bounds of ye same as in & by ye same writing (relation being thereunto had) vth diverse other covenants & agreements thereon conteyned more fully may appeare, Nov Know yee that I JOHN SAMPSON for ye sume of Five thousand Five hundred pounds of good & Merchantable Tobacco to me paid by JOHN CRUCHER of Rappae: aforesaid, Planter, have sold sd parcell of land by ye sd recited writing granted all my right & interest of ye same by vertue thereof unto ye sd JOHN CRUCHER his heires & assignes forever, To have and to hold forever after & undr. such quit rents or rents to his Maties Cheife Lords of ye prmises accustomed, And I ye sd JOHN SAMPSON doe hereby promise that ye sd JOHN CRUCHER his heires & assignes shall peaceably enjoy sd land hereby granted wthout ye lett of me my heires or assignes or lany claiming under me. I doe further promise to ratifie this prsent deed by acknowledging ye same in Court when lawfully required. Witness my hand & Seale the 21st day August 1677

      WHEREAS I JOHN SAMPSON by Deed in writing under my hand & seale have sold over a certain peice of land in ye County of Rappae: unto JOHN CRUCHER of Rappae: aforesaid & I ye sd JOHN SAMPSON doe hereby constitute & appoint my loving Friend, JOHN TAVERNER, to appeare for me & in my name at ye Cort held for ye sd County & then & there to acknowledge ye said Deed as my act and deed & ye land therein sold to be Right of ye sd JOHN CRUCHER for & against me & my heires forever. Witness myhand & seale lye 5 day of August 1677

      KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I JOHN CRUTCHER of YOACOMACO, Planter, have agreed bargained and sold all that tract of land with all its appurtinances thereunto belonging formerly purchased of Mr: JOHN SAMPSON together with all the Right. Title and Interest I the said CRUTCHER did formerly possess unto JOHN KIRBY of RAPPA County, Planter, in consideration of Fifteen thousand pounds of good sound merchantable tobacco in cask to be paid in manner & form following (vizt) Two thousand five hundred pounds of tobacco & cask convenient to be now paid upon de-mand and Six thousand two hundred and fifty pounds of tobacco to be paid upon demand after the 10th day of October next which will be in the year of our Lord 1692; And the like sum of Six thousand two hundred and fifty pounds of like qualifyed tobacco and cask to be paid upon demand after the 10th day of October which will be in the year of our Lord One thousand six hundred ninety and three. In Witness whereof wee have hereunto affixed our hands & seals this 9th day of November 1691
