      Griffith Beddo clerk in the Annapolis land office.

      According to "Anne Arundel Co MD Marr Ref: by Peden (p 14)Griffith married first Hannah Calder on 31 Jul 1728 in St. Anne's Parish, and second "niece" Katherine Shedrick.

      Griffith appears to die a widower without children when he leaves everything to his "niece Catherine Stredwick" in his will written 14 Feb 1740, probated Ann Arundel Co, MD on 19 May 1742.

      25 Aug 1737; Indenture between Charles Carroll, Esq. of Annapolis and John Bowie; in 1664 Lord Baltimore granted Robert Brooke 1000 acres called Brooke Ridge; Calvert Co. records: 30 Sep 1667 Robert Brooke assigned the tract to his brother Charles Brooke and his heirs; who in 1671 bequeathed same to his sisters Anne & Elizabeth Brooke; Anne m. Christopher Beanes and Elizabeth m. Richard Smith and had several children b. in wedlock; Christopher Beanes & Anne his wife by indenture 16 Aug 1684 in Calvert Co. conveyed their moiety, bounded by Mt. Calvert Manor, to Richard Smith; his eldest son, Richard Smith, on 5 Sep 1716 conveyed to Charles Carroll; sd. land was vested in Charles Carroll, physician, heir of afsd.
