      March 13th 1668. IN YE NAME OF GOD Amen, the Last Will & Testamt. of ABR: BYRAM lying very sick but yet p:fect in sense & memory.
      Imprs. My Soule I bequeath to God yt: gave it, & my body to ye Earth to receave xpian buriall & ye rest of my worldly goods to be disposed of in forme & manner as followeth;
      First, I bequeath unto my Sonne, THO: BYRAM, this Three hundred acres of Land wch: now I live on, & in case yt: my sd. Sonne, THO: BYRAM, should dye before he comes to ye age of one & twenty, then ye sd: Three hundred acres of land to be equally devided betwixt my other two Sonns, ABR: & PETER BRYAM, but in case yt: my Sonne, THO: BRYAM, shall live to injoy ye sd. Land, & should dye wth: out male issue, then ye sd: Land to returne to ye sd: ABR: & PET: BYRAM, or to their male issue, and for all my sheep cattle & hogs & all other moveables to be equally divided among my four. Children, ABR: PETER, DOROTHY & THOMAS & my Wife, only three yoate of Oxen wth: furniture fitt for them, to either of my three Sonns a Yoak of Oxen, likewise I leave my two Sons, ABR: & PETER BYRAM, to be Guardians unto my youngest Sonne, THO: BYRAM, & of all ye Land & to injoy ye benefit of it in rite or lett or sett, or what else untill he comes of maturity of yeares, to give & divide otherwise.

      KNOW ALL MEN by these p:sents that I JOHN MERIDETH. Shipwright, of CHRIST CHURCH Parish & in ye County of LANCASTER, having marryed ye Relict of ABRAHAM BRYAM of GREAT WICOCOMICOE Parish, and in ye County of Northumberland, it is agreed upon by ye said JNO: MERIDETH and DOROTHY his Wife, ye Relict of ye aforesaid BYRAM, yt: all ye sheep and cattle yt: did belong to ye said ABRAHAM BRYAM shall remayne upon ye plantacon where they are for ye benefitt of ye Children of ye said deced., ABRAM BYRAM, they & their increase & to be equally devided amongst them both parties agreeing thereunto and as wt: goods & lumbermts. in ye House as beds potts or ye like belonging to ye said Estate, I ye said JNO: MERIDETH with ye consent of my Wife, doe take into my possession, and in lieu of it, I ye said JNO: MERIDETH, doe enjoyne my selfe my heires or assignes to deliver unto ye said Estate for ye good & benefitt of ye said Children, one Mare with her increase and to be delivered now this 16th Octobr: 1668. The number of Sheep & Cattle are as followeth, vizt., 18 yeves & one ram; 6 cowes & 5 calves, 2 yoke of oxen, one bull staf, & one bull, and 4 breeding saves, These particulars are ye stock that is now in being upon the said Plantacon for ye use & profitt and benefitt of ye Children, both parties agreed thereunto.       In the name of God Amen I bequeath which
      tobacco is to be paid out of the crop betwixt both parties more to Thomas Kingwell 60 lbs more from Abraham Byram to Thomas Kingwell 30 more to Henry Hurst from [---] [-----] 200 lbs of tobacco its the [-] betwixt Abraham and I,
      Item I give to Abraham Byram, I give to Thomas Byram one [-----] [-----] with a star in the forehead and if in case the boy should decease the said yearling with her increase to return to. his father Abraham Byram
      Item I give to Henry Hurst one cow colored pied
      Item I give to Henry Mosely the younger a cow called [----] and a black heifer called Doll the first two cow calves they being to his brother [-----] Mosely and if either of these should die the other [--] [----] [-----] there father to have the [-----] [-----] till they come to age and to have the male cattle

      Abraham Byram his deposition.
      The deposition of Abraham Byram aged 28 years or there aboutssaith upon oath that at the house of Thomas Prichett this depondent heard a dispute between Wm. Spicer and Mr. James Hawley concerning a bill due from Mr. Hawley and Martin Cole likewise of a condition for cask this bill being by Spicer demanded of Mr. Hawley, Mr. Hawleys answer was that he would not pay the debt untill that his cask were set up, the said Mr. Hawley then said that his bargain was not performed and he further said that Martin Coles casks were set up and further this depondent saith not.

PETER ASHTON and Mr. THOMAS SMITH. that ABRAHAM BYRAM standeth indebted unto EDWARD BOUTWELL, deced„ the summe of nine hundred pounds of tobacco and caske; It is therefore ordered that the said BYRAM shall by the 10th of November next make payment of the said summe of 900 lb. of tobco: & caske (according to Act of Assembly) (being old debt), unto Mr. WM: THOMAS, Attorney of EDWARD KEITLY, whoe married with the Relict and Administratrix of the said BOUTWELL, with three yeares interest and costs of suit together with thirty pounds of tobco, to the Comrs., als execucon. Provided alwayes & it is further ordered that if the said BYRAM by the sd. 10th of 9br: make appeare the said debt paid, then this Order to be void. or if any pt, thereof paid, then soe much to be abated. otherwise to be & remaine in full force as aforesaid
