      - Commission of Administration of ye Estate of WILLIAM NASH, late of this County deced. is granted unto AMEY NASH, his Widow and Relict and WILLIAM NASH, his Eldest Son, they giving security according to Law WILLIAM EDMONDS and THOMAS YERBY Securitys JEREMIAH PASQUETT, THOMAS BUCKLEY, WILLIAM LAWRENCE and THOMAS CARTER are ordered to appraise the Estate att some convenient time between this and ye next Court and an Inventory thereof upon Oath to be returned to ye next Court

      William Nash his will.
      In the name of God Amen, to all Christain people
      [----] concern know you that I William Nash of Great Wicocomoco in the County of Northumberland being perfect in memory [---] present being visited with sickness by the hand of Almighty God I do here make my last will and testament as followeth
      Imprimus I give my soul to Almighty God and my body to the earth from whence it came.
      First - I give and bequeath unto my eldest son Thomas Nash [---....:] that part or parcel of land that I bought of John Ingram laying [-----] the Dividing Creek also I give him three cows one feather bed [----] furniture to it, one chest, one gun and a spitt, an iron pot and a [--- ] with a proportion of pewter.
      Item - I give and bequeath unto [--] second son William Nash the half of seven hundred acres of land which Mr. Gerase Dodson hath rights for to take up and pattent also I give him two cows and one feather bed with furniture to it, one chest, a pot and a gun and a kettle with a proportion of pewter.
      Item - I give unto my youngest son John Nash the other half of my land before specified and two cows, one chest, a pot, a kettle and a gun with a proportion of pewter,
      Lastly - I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Ann Nash all [----] rest of my cattle and goods both moveables and non moveables. further it is my desire that my, plate shall be equally divided amoungst my wife and children one tankard, two wine cups, one dram cup and seven spoons further it is my desire that my loving brother Mr. Thomas Hopkins shall administer of my estate in the behalf of my wife and children, further it is my desire that Mr. Thomas Hopkins, Mr. Richard Budd and Theodor Barber to be my Overseers over the estate in the behalf of my children, further my desire is that my children be brought up in the fear of God with learning and education and the legacy that
      I leave them to be given to them when they are seventeen years of age as witness my hand and seal this 8th of November 1655.
