      Lancaster County Court 14th of November 1666
      - A P:bate of ye Last Will & Testamt, of ARTHUR BRANCH (deced) is granted unto THOMAS WILLYS, accordinge to ye tenor of ye sde . Will. RICHARD LEWYS & HEN: NICHOLS are ordered to apprize ye sde. Estate & to bee sworne by ye next Justice. The Inventorie to bee exhibited to ye next Cort.

      The Jurys verdict on Mr. Budds Servant Thomas Winn.
      Whereas at a court holden for this County of Northumberland the 22nd day of November 1655 The verdict of the Jury and judgement did award and decree that whereas Mrs. Eleanor Budd was accused for the death of one Thomas Winn her late Servant, that the said Winn should be taken up out of the earth and viewed by a Jury of 12 men a Coronor and one Chyourgion or more and that the said Mrs. Budd should touch and handle the said corpes and that the skull of the said Winn should be especially viewed.
      These may therefore certify all those whom it may seem toconcern and be relative unto that we whose names are under subscribed being for that purpose empaneled on a Jury together With Lt. Col. John Trussell Coronor and Mr. Robert Burrell Chyourgion have accordingly cleaned and viewed the said skull and see the said Mrs. Budd handle the same and did not perceive any symptoms or example by which God of his just judgement maybe evidence, her the said Mrs. Ellenor Budd any whit guilty of the said accusation the said skull being as (we suppose) the skull of any dead man is which death by no casual but a natural death dated the first day of January 1655. The body of the said Winn could not possibly be taken up being quite consumed, the bones excepted.

      Whereas it doth appeare unto this Court that JAMES CLAUGHTON stands bound by his Bill to pay Five hundred pounds of tobacco & caske to ARTHUR BRANCH, the Court doth order that the said CLAUGHTON shall make paymt, of the said Debt unto ye said ARTHUR BRANCH within twenty dayes next Court wth: Court chardges else execucon

      - Whereas it doth appeare unto the Court that ARTHUR BRANCH doth owe unto MYLES COOKE Two thousand two hundred eighty and seaven pounds of tobco: by Bill and Acct, The Court doth therefore ordr: that the saide ARTHUR BRANCH shall make paymt, of the saide Debt unto RALPH HORSLY, Administratr: of the saide COOKE with forebearance and chardges of Court als execucon. Alwayes provided that if MYLES COOKE doe make appeare that he hath made satisfaccon to ARTHUR BRANCH for one hundred weight of sugar at seaven pounds of tobco: p lb., wch: the saide BRANCH hath sworne that he never receased any satisfaccon for the sugar nor any for him, that then the saide BRANCH shall pay the whole debt being Two thousand nine hundred eighty seaven pounds of tobco: according to this ordr: above written

      The Deposicon of ARTHUR BRANCH, aged 28 yeares taken ye 27th January 1652 ARTHUR BRANCH being at Mr. MORRISes with other company called out to helpe ( ) ye saide ( ) he ye saide BRANCH seeing ( ) WALKER, MARTIN COLE & ABRAHAM BYRAM all afighting ye sd, WALKER giveing ye said BRANCH a Rope saying I will binde ( ) & necke and heeles & the saide BRANCH laying downe ye Rope ( ) ye saide MORRIS wth: ( ) of ye said WICKER, ( ) said MORRIS said hee ( ) of ye said WICKER ( ) MARTINE COLE called for ye Rope and ye saide BRANCH told them it was gon, the saide BRANCH tooke holde of ye saide WICKER and ledd him downe towards ye water side to sett him neare the ( ) to have holde him and at thi( ) said BRANCH and ( ) there came ye said COLE & others and tooke ye said WICKER from ye saide BRANCH & brought him, ye saide WICKER, to ye saide MORRISSes ( ) & kept him there all night and further saith not Jurat coram me.       Arthur Branch his letter of attorney to Thomas Prickett.
      I Arthur Branch do authorize Thomas Prickett to be my attorney to answer the suit of James Auston attorney of Mr. George Colclough and what my said attorney shall do in the premisses as in my behalf I do allow of it to be as if I were personally present as witness my hand the 16th day of January 1655.

      - The Deposicon of ARTHUR BRANCH age 26 yeares or thereabouts upon Oath this Depont. saith that Mr, JNO: INGRAM and JOHN GRESHAM is bound joyntly & severally to two Bills, one of them THO: PRICHETT was not wittnesse to it, futher I the sd. Depont., doe confirme what ye abovesd. THOMAS PRICHETT hath said & that I was wittnes to the said Bill of nineteene thousand nine hundred and odd pounds of tobacco & further this Depont. sayeth not.
