      - By sufficient Evidence, it appeares to the Cort: that THOMAS READE lay sick at the House of STEPHEN LEFORD nine weekes or thereabouts to the great trouble & charge of the said LEFORD & there died, & was buried at his charge. The Cort: doth therefore order that JOHN HULETT, Administr. of the Estate of the said READE, shall by the tenth of November next make paymt, of twelve hundred pounds of tobco: and caske unto the sd. STEPHEN LEFORD in consideracon of his trouble & expense in the sd. READEs sickness & funeral! rites: in the first place out of the deceds. Estate

      An inventory of the estate of Thomas Reade of Northumberland County deceased taken by John Hulett administrator thereof,
      Imprimus - 1 pair of Smiths bellows, I anvill, 2 great vices 2 sledges, 2 hammers, 1 old spit jack, 1 cold chisel, 3 pair tongs, 1 rasp, 1 bow and 2 drills, 3 punches, 1 file cutter, 1 small screw plate, 2 hammers, 1 great broken screw plate, 4 screw taps, 3 old files, 1 hand vice I pair of Cobiers pincers, 1 feather bolster old, 1 iron kettle, 2 Indian matts, 1 old frying pan, 2 old barrells of guns, 3 old guns without locks, I fixed gun, I chest, I old brush, 600 6p nails, 1 old bolster filled with flocks, I pair old breeches, 1 old suit of clothes, 2 ink horns, I old razor, 2 spoons, 1 saucer, I Bible, 1 small book, I Holland shirt, 1 pack of cards, 1 iron pot, 1 old tray, 1 old blanket, 1 bucket, 150 6p nails, 1 old trundlett, 1 blanket more.

      There is a paper of accounts (whichmost of think paid) the several perticulers amounts to about 2000 Ibs tobacco. All which goods debts and chattles together with the land or lands or will be accountable for when I have possession thereof provided that they be entirely and properly due to the said estate.

      Know all men by these presents that I John Hulett do assign all my right title and interest of this pattent from me
      my heirs and assignees unto Thomas Reade his heirs or assignees forever as witness my hand this 20th of May

      To all etc. Whereas etc. Now know you that I Edward Digges Esq. etc. give and grant unto John Hulett three hundred acres of land situated laying and being in the County of Northumberland bounding Southerly upon Wicocomoco Creek Easterly upon the land of Mr. George Colclough Westerly and Northerly upon the main woods the said land being due unto the said John Hulett by and for the transportation of six persons into this colony whose names are in the records mentioned under this pattent etc. dated the 24th of October 1655.

      I Edmund Chesman above mentioned by thesepresents constitute and ordain Thomas Reade of the County of Northumberland in Virginia my true and lawfull attorney in my stead and for my use to demand recover and receivethe sum of350 pounds tobacco above specified of the extrs admtrs or assignees of the said Ralph Horsley, giving unto my said attorney full power so to do, witness my hand this 31st of March 1656.
