      KNOW ALL MEN by these p;sents yt: I RICHARD BENNETT of Virginia hearby make over & assigne unto WM. CLAPHAM ye Younger, all ye right tytle & interest yt: I have wch: to me belongeth in an Estate of Lands, Servants, Cattle, Hogs & houses and all other that Estate yt: is exprest in a writinge of Mortgage dated ye 13th of Aprill yr: 1641 by Mr. EPAPRO: LAWSON deced, for fortie thousand pounds of tobacco & caske as by ye sd writinge may & doth appears, Exceptinge I give Two thousand acres of land in Rapahanock & wch: it is to be disposed this vizt. One thousand acres thereof to RICH: LAWSON & his heirs forever & the other thousand acres to be entered & intended for ELIZA:, ye Daughter of ye aforesd. EPAPHRODITUS, to her & her heirs in case there be she live to fifteen yeares of age but if she have not soe longe then yt: it shall belonge to him, ye aforesd, WM. CLAPHAM and his heirs, all wch: lands, servants, cattle, goods &c., mentioned shall bee to ye aforesd WM. CLAPHAM his heirs & assignes forever in consideracon of Thirty six thousand pounds of tobacco & caske to be paid as followeth: Six thousand thereof readie down upon all demands & ye other 30 thousand at 3 paymts. ye ensueing yeares following after this vist. ten thousand pounds yearly In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seale ye 12th day of 7ber 1652

      KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I WILLIAM CLAPHAM of the County of Rappahanock the Younger for the valluable consideracon of (missing) pounds of Tobo & Cask upon all demands to be (missing) & four thousand pounds & (missing) ) do alien bargain & sell & by these presents do firmly sell & make over unto JOHN WEIR his heirs Ears. Admrs. or Assignes for ever one thousand acres of land lying in the Freshes of RAPPAHANNOCK RIVER beginning at a marked white Oak at the lowermost end of the ISLAND to him his heirs & assignes forever & I the said WILLIAM CLAPHAM do hereby bind my self my heirs Ears. & Assignes to save and keep harmless the said JOHN WEIR his heirs & assignes from any person or persons wtsoever that may or shall lay any claime to the same & further I the said WILLIAM CLAPHAM do hereby bind myself my heirs & assignes to make unto the said JOHN WEIR or his assigns wt. further assurance he or they shall in reason demand (missing) further I do hereby bind my self my heirs or assignes in case any person or persons (missing) lay claim or (missing) to the said land & by that claim shall recover the said land from the said JOHN WEIR then the said CLAPHAM shall pay or cause to be paid by him or his assignes (missing) Tobacco & cask upon all demands & do hereby give power unto Mr. ANT.       Whereas WILLIAM SMART have aliened bargained & sold unto WILLIAM CLAPHAM of RAPPAHANNOCK JUNR. a Tract of land lying in the said RAPPAHANOCK RIVER according to a conveyance bearing date the 29th of Aprill 1658 Now Know all men by these presents that I the said WILLIAM SMART do hereby constitute & appoint my loving friend ALLEXANDR. FLEMING gent. my true & lawfull Attorney for me & in my behalf to acknowledge all my right menconed in the said conveyance with all my right & title of the said land therein menconed in the Court of Rappahannock to the said CLAPHAM his heires or assignes for Ever. In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & seal this 13th of July 1658
