      BE IT KNOWN unto all men by these p:sents that I EDWARD STREATOR of NANSEMOND County in Virginia, Merchant, for a valuable consideration already in hand paid have bargained for sold & delivered into EDMUND LUND Fourteen head of Cattle late belonging unto my predecessor, Colo. THO: BURBADGE deced, now
      going at & upon my Plantation in Rapa. River their ages & markes as felleweth that is to say, five of ye oldest of them being cows about ye age of six years apeice are branded on the buttock with a grist iron of my predecessor Colo. THO: BURBADGE with the two letters which stands & is belonging to his name and are ear marked as thus, one Coal Black cow the left ear cropt & ye right ear slit, another black coe with a white patch on ye rump & white under ye belly ye left ear cropt ye right ear slit; one brown Cow whiteish under ye belly, ye left ear crop, ye right ear slit, one brown Cow whiteish under ye belly, ye left ear cropt ye right ear slit, one pyed Cow whiteish under ye belly

      fashionable like a heart about ye age of two years & a halfe old ye left ear cropt & a little peice taken out from ye upper of ye same ear ye right ear slit, one red Steer about two years & a halfe old cropt on ye left ear & a small peice taken away from ye upper part of ye same ear & ye right ear slit & underkeeled, One black bull about two years & a halfe old ye left year cropt ye right ear slit, One young Steer about eighteen months old darkeish colour brown ye left ear cropt ye right ear slit, Two cow calves about seven month old each ye one of them pyed ye other brown both of them cropt on ye left ears & slit in their right; two Steer calves about five months old a peice the one red ye other darkish brown both cropt on their left ears ye right ear slit; & one bull calfe black about four months old ye ledt each crops ye right ear slit. All & each of them above mentioned fourteen head of Cattle whatsoever increases shall ensue thereby & ye above named EDWARD STREATER do here before these p:sents acknowledge & make good & warrantable ye sale thereof unto ye above named EDMUND LUND his heirs Exrs. Admrs. & assignes and that he or they shall be now & ever hereafter hold pssess & enjoy all & every of the above mentioned cattle with whatsoever increase & benefit that shall ensue thereby forever without ye denial let hindrance molestation or trouble of me ye sd EDWARD STREATER my heirs Exrs. Admrs. or assignes or any other p:sons whatsoever with warranty to defend ye sale thereof unto ye sd LUND his heirs Exrs.       Mr MALLORY, Gaurdian to THOMAS OLDIS, Execucon agst. Capt. STREATER.
      Whereas it was ordered at a Quarter Court held at JAMES CITTY the 17th day of March 1657 that the difference depending betweene PHILLIP MALLORY, Clerk. Gaurdian of THOMAS OLDIS, & Capt. EDWARD STREATER, whoe married the Relict of Coll. THOMAS BURBAGE deced., should by consent of p:tes be referred to ye arbitracon of Messrs. WM. WORLICK, Capt. JNO: POWELL, Mr. WM. BATTE & RICHARD HULL, within ten dayes after the expiracon of the sd, Court & in case the sd. Arbytrators disagreement that they to chouse an Umpire whose Umpirage should be a finall ( ) thereof & if the sd. CAPT. STREATER should not appears upon sufficient notice given him by the sd. Mr. MALLORY, then the Arbytrators to proceed upon the Accompt delivered to them by the said Mr. MALLORY; And Whereas the sd. Capt. STREATER notwithstanding notice given him according to the sd. Order, made no appearance; the sd. Arbitrators haveing p:sued the Accompt provided by the sd. MR. MALLORY & proofes thereof made p:ceeded in the Arbitracon & did thereby award that the sd. Capt. STREATER should satifie & pay unto the sd. Mr. MALLORY the quantity of Twenty five thousand two hundred & fifty pounds of Tobco: & Twenty eight barrells of Corne, as alsoe to deliver unto the sd. Mr. MALLORY all the Cattle ( ) & being upon the Plantacons at KE ( ) WICOCOMOCO male & female included sold by Mr. GEORGE COLCLUGH & ( ) deliver unto the sd. Mr. MALLORY Ele( ) of soe many Sheepe sold by the sd. Attorney for me & in my name to act as Gaurdian in managemt. & p:socuson of the execucon lately obtained against Capt. EDWARD STREATER and upon receipt of the same or any pt: thereof to give discharge or discharges if occasion require & whatsoever my sd.
