      1 December, 1673 ; 1 September, 1675.
      SWELLIVANT, DENNIS, of the County of Rapp. and Parish of ffarnham in Virga., Planter.
      Weak in body but of perfect minde and memory.
      To son Dennis Swellivant the land I now live on from the lower pte thereof as farr as the place called by the name of Dennits Cove wth the land purchased of Thomas freshwater if when he comes to the age of sixteen years he will accept thereof or else to have the upper part of my devident (Vizt) from the sd. Dennits Cove to the upper end of my devident soe my sd son Dennis to have his Choice either pte when he attain the age of sixteen years.
      I give unto my son Daniel the upper pte of my devident vizt from the sd Dennis Cove to the upper end and provided my son Dennis doe not make Choice thereof and if he should then my sd son Daniel to have the other pte that I now live upon and to enjoy the same at the years of sixteen but it is my will that neither of my sd. sons shall dispose sell or convey away any parts thereof until they attain the age of one and twenty years and if either of my sd. sonnes dye before they attain the sd. age of one and twenty years without issue then it is my will that the Survivour should enjoy the whole
      Item I give and bequeath unto my wife Joane my whole personall estate during the time she shall remain a Widw. and if she shall happen to Marry then my personall estate to be divided into three equal pts Vizt. my sd. wife one third and my sd sons each of them athird and if she shall die in time of her widowhood then to be equally divided between my two sons Dennis and Daniel
      Item I give unto my daughter Sarah the wife of Henry Lenton three Cowes and one steer of five or six years of age and I give unto my grandson Anthony Lenton one Cow
      Item I do make constitute and appoint my sd wife Joane Swellivant my sole executrix of this my Last will and testament
      Item I do hereby intrust my well beloved friends Mr. Robert Baylie, Mr. James Samford, Henry Lenton and Thos. freshwater as overseers of this my last will and in confirmacon thereof have hereunto set my hand and Seale this first of December 1673

BE IT KNOWNE unto all men that I THOMAS FRESHWATER of the County of Rappa. and Parish of Farnham for a valuable consideration to me paid by DENNIS SWELLIVANT of the same County and Parish and for wch I doe forever sell and make over unto the said DENNIS SWELLIVANT one parcell of land containing Two hundred and fifty acres being in the abovesaid County and Parish adjoyning to the land he now liveth on and adjoyning to the land of WILLIAM TUFFLEY deceased and WILLIAM HAMMOCK and being part of a greater Divident belonging to me the said FRESHWATER.
