      DOUGLASS to serve SMITH
      WILLIAM SMITH by his Petition setting forth that ELIZABETH DOUGLASS some time in the month of August one thousand seven hundred and seven did leave at the Petitioner's House her Son, THOMAS DOUGLASS, who was then one year old, ever since wch: time the Petitioner hath kept the said THOMAS DOUGLASS in Cloathes & Victualls and hath not heard of nor seen the said ELIZABETH DOUGLASS since the time aforesaid; therefore prays that the said THOMAS DOUGLASS may be bound to him, he being ready to comply with such measures as the Court shall seem meet & convenient. The Court takeing the same into consideration, do order that the said THOMAS DOUGLASS serve the said SMITH till he shall attaine to the age of twenty one years, it appearing to the Court that the said THOMAS DOUGLASS was three years of age last March; the said SMITH assumeing in Court to learn the said THOMAS DOUGLASS to read, write and the Trade of a Shoomaker

      THIS INDENTURE made the Second day of August in the Sixth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland, King, Defender of the faith &c,, And in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and thirty two; Between THOMAS DOUGLAS of Parish of Sittenbourne in County of Richmond, Carpenter, and ELIANOR his Wife of one part and THOMAS OSBORNE of Parish of Northfarnham in County of Richmond, Planter, of other part; Witnesseth that THOMAS DOUGLAS and ELIANOR his Wife in consideration of the sum of Twenty pounds Sterling money to them said THOMAS and ELIANOR in hand paid by THOMAS OSBORNE, the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge, hath and by these presents doe demise lease and to farm left unto THOMAS OSBORNE his heirs for the full term of Ninety nine yExrs to commence from the date of these presents, all that parcel of land containing by estimacon full Fifty acres scituate in Parish of Northfarnham and County of Richmond and bounded, Begining at a red Oak corner tree in the line of Mr. THOMAS BEALE, so runing down the Branch till it meets with MONOCAN SWAMP, so to continue un till the Fifty acres of land be fully compleated, the Fifty acres of land was formerly the inheritance of ANGEL JACOBUS, deced., and by ANGEL JACOBUS and ANN his Wife conveyed unto RANDOLPH DOUGLAS, deced. Father of said THOMAS DOUGLAS, party to these presents; by Deed dated the Sixth day of April one thousand six hundred ninty seven, which Deed is now remaining among the Records of the County of Richmond, and after the decease of RANDOLPH DOUGLAS did descend and come to THOMAS DOUGLAS as Son and Surviving heir of RANDOLPH DOUGLAS, Together with all houses orchards comoditys and hereditaments to the Fifty acres of land belonging; To have and to hold the land and premises unto THOMAS OSBORNE and assigns during the time of Ninty nine yExrs paying the quit rents which shall hereafter become due and payable for the premises during the term herein limited as also yearly the annual rent of one Ear of Indian Corn during the term; In Witness whereof the partys to these presents have interchangeably set their hands and seals the day and year first above
