Notes - In 1698 John Tabb, who had married Martha, daughter of Richard Hand, gave a receipt to William Lowry, administrator of Richard Hand, and " father-in-law (step-father) to Martha, Tabb's wife, for her father's estate, and for some stock left by Major Matthew Warkelin (Wakelin) her grandfather-in-law" (which means that Wakelin married the widow of her grandfather Thomas Purefoy, Jr.). In 1675 Wakelin was guardian to Purefoy's children.
