      Keziah Burch's 1820/1831 Washington, D.C. will may be found at Pippenger, Wesley E., "District of Columbia Probate Records, 1801-1852," p. 167. The will names nephew Augustin Burch.

      June 1803 - Richard Burch of Richard, a minor 16 years of age the 13th day of March last, is by the Court put under the guardianship of Augustine Burch his cousin who being present accepts thereof. Whereupon it is ordered by the Court that the estate of said minor both real and personal be delivered into the hands of his guardian he giving bond and security according to law.

      At the request of Jesse Jameson the following deed was recorded this 15th day of October Anno Domini 1813
      This Indenture made this ninth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirteen Between Nicholas Miles and Joseph Boarman of Leonard of Charles County in the State of Maryland of the one part and Jesse Jameson of the County and State aforesaid physician of the other part Witnesseth that Whereas Justinian Burch late of the County aforesaid died intestate and without will leaving issue six sons and five daughters to wit Augustine Oliver Burch Theophilus Young Burch Verlinder Burch since intermarried with a certain George Moore Jane Burch since intermarried with a certain Patrick Haley Ann Burch since intermarried with a certain Ignatius Edelen Henry Burch Remasus Burch Sarah D Burch Harrison Burch Joseph A Burch and Martha Burch the last mentioned six minors. And Whereas the said Justinian Burch at the time of his death was seized and possessed in fee simple of sundry tracts or parcels of land lying and being in the County aforesaid And whereas Theophilus Y Burch George Moore in right of his wife Verlinder and Patrick Haley in right of his Wife Jane (which said Virlinder and Jane are two of the Daughters of the said Justinian Burch deceased as before mentioned) did prefer their petition in writing to the Judge of Charles County Court at March term in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and six praying the said court to issue a commission conformably to the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of Maryland made and passed at November Session in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty six intitled an Act to direct descents in order that partition might be made amongst the several Representatives of the said Justenian Burch deceased and in other respects to do what shall appertain to Law and Justice And Whereas the said Judges of Charles County court aforesaid did in pursuance of the aforesaid petition issue a Commission to Jesse Jameson Nicholas Miles George Dyer Joseph Boarman and Henry Cooksey directing them the said Commissions to adjudge and determine whether the said lands would admit of being divided amongst the several persons entitiles to the same without loss and injury to all the parties interested in the same and to ascertain the value of the said lands in current money of Maryland and if the said lands would in the opinion and Judgment of the said Commissioners or a majority of them be divided without loss and injury to all the parties interested in the same that they the said Commissioners should then divide and make partition of the same fairly and equally in value Between all parties interested and Whereas three of the said Commissions to wit Nicholas Miles Joseph Boarman and Henry Cooksey did after duly qualifying enter upon the said lands and upon enquiry did find that the said Justenian Burch died seized and possessed in fee simple of the following tracts or parcels of land lying and being in the County aforesaid to wit one parcel of land being part of a tract of land called Bowlings Plains Resurveyed Containing one hundred and seven Acres two roods and Sixteen perches one other parcel of land being part of a tract of land called Church Over containing twenty four Acres two roods and thirty perches one other parcel of land being part of a tract of land called Queen Mary containing twenty acres and twenty seven perches one other parcel of land being part of a tract of land called Queen Mary ____ containing forty Eight Acres one rood and nineteen perches one other parcel of land being part of tract of land called Boarmans Manor Containing Sixteen Acres two roods and thirty eight perches one other parcel of land being part of a tract of land called Chesham containing one hundred and Sixty five Acres one rood and three perches one other parcel of land being part of a tract of land called Burches Reserve containing Seventy two acres and twenty perches and one other tract or parcel of land called Tell Well containing forty six acres one rood and thirty nine perches and the Commissioners last mentioned upon wiew thereof did adjudge and determine that the said lands would not admit of being divided without loss and injury to the several parties interested and did make return of such their Judgment to Charles County court aforesaid stating the reason upon which their said Judgment of the real value of the said lands in Current Money which said Judgment and return of the said Commissioners was confirmed by the court of Charles County aforesaid And Whereas the children and heirs of the said Justenian Burch deceased who had attained or arrived to the age of twenty one years did appear before the Court of Charles County aforesaid at March Term in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Eight and did severally in open court elect not to take the said lands at the valuation returned by the said Commissioner And Whereas the said Theophilus Y Burch George Moore and Patrick Haley did then and there severally and individually pray the said court of Charles County to order and decree a sale of the said lands agreeably to the directions and provisions of the Act of Assembly aforesaid and Whereas the said court did order and direct the aforesaid Commissioners to sell the said lands according to Law and the said Commissioners in pursuance of the order of Charles County aforesaid did on the seventh day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and ten expose to public sale part of the said land distinguished and marked on the plott returned by the said Commissioned by the number two being part of three tracts or parcels of land called Burches reserve Chesham and Boarmans Manor and the said Jesse Jameson became the purchaser thereof as will more fully appear by the return of Commissioners to Charles County Court aforesaid which said return was by Charles County Court aforesaid accepted confirmed and ratified at August Term in the year Eighteen hundred and ten all which proceedings of the court of Charles County and the Commissioners aforesaid respectiong the premises aforesaid were recorded among the Records of Charles County aforesaid as by the said records reference being thereunto had will more fully and at large appear Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Nicholas Miles and Joseph Boarman of Leonard for and in Consideration of the sum of nine hundred and fifteen dollars and twenty seven cents lawful money of the United States to them in hand paid or secured to be paid by the said Jesse Jameson before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof they do hereby Acknowledge and also in pursuance of the Authority vested in them by Law to sell and convey the said land before recited have given granted bargaind and sold aliened enfeoffed released and confirmed and by these presents do give grant bargain and sell alien enfeoff release and confirm unto him the said Jesse Jameson his heirs and assigns forever part of three tracts or parcels of land lying and being in the county aforesaid called Burches reserve Chesham and part of Boarmans Manor late the property and Estate of the before mentioned Justenian Burch (see deed for description of land)
      In Witness whereof the said Nicholas Miles and Joseph Boarman of Leonard have to these presents severally Subscribed their names and affixed their seals the day and year first herein before written
