Charles County Land Record Book X No. 2, 1743-1744; Page 20. At the request of Justinian Burch, Jr, of CC, the following deed was recorded on Aug 4, 1743.
I, Justenian Burch Sr of CC, planter, for the natural love that I have for my son, Justenian Burch, Jr, of CC, planter, and for other good causes, I give him all that parcel of land, being part of a tract of land in CC on the east side of Piles Fresh called Lumley, containing about 112.5 acres. Also, one other tract of land, lying in CC contiguous to the land afd and called Penray, bounded by John Noe's land, said Burch's land, the White Oak Swamp, containing about 46 acres, both tracts of land containing 158.5 acres (reserving to the said Justn Burch Sr 1 acre out of the tract called Lumley Round, the place where his father and mother are interred, for a graveyard).
